Just for your info im going to e-mail this to the corporate side of your dealer and see what they say about your customer service! You failed miserably in this department, all you had to say is can order this for you but no i get shoveled aside. Some service you got. If i was your boss youd be written up, And id be questioning your service skills. As a employee of a company your looked at how much money you can make the company? Are you making the company money? or do You cost the company money? -13.00 you could have made? From my measly bulb. (Message edited by preybird1 on September 27, 2008) |

WOW...Very harsh words Mr. Preybird,it seems you've been on the Badweb for...2 months? Don't you think you're being a little forward and...dare i say, rude? I too, once had a major beef with MY dealer.I let HIM know about it privately, and did not try to publicly humiliate him.I soon had just about every official phoning me to try and make amends. They've saved me just about every freebie that's come along from BMC. Two days ago the UPS truck pulls up.Confused i tell him i'm not awaiting anything.THe box has my dealer stamp on it.They'd taken the liberty of UPS'ing my new "PRD0501" headlamp recall kit to me knowing i'd not allow their techs to install it.They know i do my own work. You owe the dealer you had the interaction with an apology in my mind. But hey,i have no animocity towards you.Just disappointment. |

I've had a very major beef with a well known dealer. I took care of it and moved on. I've never divulged who that dealer was because of their subsequent reputation as a decent Buell specific dealer. I wanted to bitch, believe me... but it wouldn't have changed anything for me and I moved on. It was a decision I've never regretted. |

I have been here longer than that this is my other log in I made when bought my x1. They wronged my brother when he went in to buy the primary gasket they said it was special order and put the parts book away, But we still wanted the part, And they said oh. So we walked out and called al. My brother told me to stay away from them and i didnt...My fault. I called the manager first and said i was going to tell you all how i was treated! Seems like You got a great dealer who actually cares. GOOD FOR YOU! Ha Ha rude is the sales guys attitude for not helping anyone out of there money. hes just mad because he got talked to by the manager! Wouldnt you just love it if you were riding through here and broke down. and had to deal with this sort of bs. I bet then you would change your tune. and the dealer might be ok but parts guys are not! the manager was apologetic but still offered nothing other than a sorry you were treated that way! not a come on down and well give you a discount on what you needed. And i dont really want a discount. Just timely service! I knew what i wanted to buy. See i need another ecm and some more parts for this other x1 we have and im not going here im gonna call al ligton. And maybe i am being rude. And i dont mind you calling me on it, But this is a total lack of service. Sorry but im a service manager and owner by profession, And its a pet peeve of mine so i may be just ranting to much. So thanks for the scolding boss! Ill try and be more civil! (Message edited by preybird1 on September 27, 2008) |

IMHO, anyone on BwB'ers that has been done wrong by a HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealer with a BUELL Sign on their building, "WELL" "i" am on their side ... "i" do not give one "BUELLschitte" about resolving anything that should NOT HAVE HAPPENED in the FIRST PLACE !!! |

Your tone and actions are inconsistent with getting a problem solved. It's a frickin' LIGHT BULB. I'd love to have a life where my "big problem" was a colored light bulb. I'd reread your post, apologize (we've all done it, in my case many times) and try again. |

I'm just curious, if you know so much about cars, (and you obviously aren't ignorant about something simple like bulbs), why didn't you just go to your friendly local auto parts store. I've never had a hard time finding LED bulbs there. Is the HD dealer closer? Preybird1, I've not met you, and I REALLY don't think you're trying to be "the bad guy" here, but you're kind of coming across that way. I've NEVER turned my back on another Buell guy, and never will (We ALL cross swords once in awhile, but that's a given). However, if I were still in the dealership, and you came in with the attitude that's been illustrated here, I'd tell you to go calm down for a bit. And I'm the guy that's stood up for the Buell Guy in every dealer I've worked for. I agree with Court. It's a light bulb. Jeez. Some would say cramming an LED bulb in an incandescant socket is McSquidly, anyways. Why not buy the complete LED taillight from American Sport Bike or somewhere, and let Ace Ventura deliver it to you, while sip'n a cold 'un? |

Well I Really wanted to see what would happen if i went in and asked for parts. It was a good Idea gone way wrong. It was technically the parts guy. not the dealer but if hes working parts, It might as well be hd as its there dime he riding on. And it is just a light Bulb Your right. so 2 reasons 1.This may sound weird but i have Never been in a hd dealer before ever, I got a couple buells from private sellers. and my friend got a fatboy and it kinda got me interested in hd bikes. He let me ride it with my g.friend. whos is daughter to hells angels she and here biker dad always gave me schit about my jap bikes for years. And to tell the truth I hated harleys since i was a little kid, A Sports\jap bike die hard fan i have always been. I Never have deviated from these bikes till now. 2.I didnt go to the dealer pissed off. It was a nice day and there hd dealer is ten minutes away, and i wanted to see what stuffs they could sell me. I knew i wanted a bulb i called ahead for the bulb. got there, In a good mood---(I was riding my buell) On a sweet day, Got there and then you know the story, I mean i put my own parts on the bike like the chevy cavalier o2 sensor, High performance car spark plug wires, I will do a car hid bulb tomorrow these are all common parts i could get delivered to my shop in 30 mins. Its the curiosity of hd that got me in the dealer and the fact that they said they had bulbs, Man sometimes you just want to see whats up at the dealer they may have some cool stuff? for ya. ha ha ha nope just grief. Its the principle of the matter! not me being a dick about a bulb. but so all can now the facts of which dealers are good and bad and mine was. (bad) a bad experience with the parts guy. He was not helpful at all, maybe i wanted to order the race ecm I needed. from this dealer, Since its close to me, And the price at dealer is the same as american sport bike. principle i say!!!! I've been to a number of HD/Buell dealers that were what I call "not Buell friendly". I don't understand where the negativity comes from. I went to Patriot HD in Fairfax Va to inquire about a Buell part. Service guy looked at me like I was from another planet. No problem, just solidifies why I don't buy HD. Now I do have some friends that own Harley's and they're cool. But the better than thou attitude from many HD'ers is something I won't deal with. They don't bother me, I actually laugh at them for being so ignorant. One dealer I found to be very "Buell friendly" is Old Glory HD/Buell in Laurel, MD. And I mean every guy in there whether they ride a HD or whatever has respect for the Buells, especially the 1125r. They were extremely helpful and professional when I bought my 1125r. If you go there, see Tim the sales mgr and tell 'em Mike from NC sent ya. Rock On Buell!!! |

Hmmm thats interesting you say Old Glory HD is very buell friendly. They're one of the ones I commented on in an earlier post in this thread. I found them to be very Buell friendly when they first opened about 18 months ago. Now they seem to have the typically arrogant attitude towards buells, that their HD sales are up. I was standing in there the other day with my leather jacket, black T-shirt, levi's 501's,Red Wing boots, and Dodge Mopar hat looking at the Buells and one of the sales guys comes up to me and says "So,..What are you one of them?" I looked at him curiously, he says "One of those Buell guys" I felt like saying... So are you one of them?,,....those a$$hole beard wearing, fat belly, greasy pony tail HD guys. But I didn't. I just nodded yeah and walked away. Maybe I'm being to sensitive, but it was the derogatory way he said it that made me mad. I've only found one parts guy there to be good with Buells and he comes from a performance background (Zippers).Forget it if you get one of the others, they act like you shouldn't even be in there. I'm sure they're all friendly if you're standing there with a fist full of cash ready to buy a new bike. |

A friend of mine had just sold his BUELL ride and went to one of those HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dealers with a BUELL Sign on the building to buy another BUELL ... He told me he went with cash in pocket and he was totally ignored !!! He went back a couple of days later and got the same treatment ... NEEDLESS TO SAY, HE BOUGHT A "TRIUMPH" !!! |

I don't know of ANYONE(exept maybe Court), who has't had a bad experience with a dealership with a HD Buell sign, and BAD customer service. I have been told by parts dept. managers, lame reasons for this problem. Bird, I'm sorry for the performance you found at your parts counter, as a business owner who has to be aware at all time of his customers satisfaction it angers me to no end how these people can rake in the cash and still suck at there job of CUSTOMER SERVICE. If the sign outside says Harley Davidson-Buell don't come at me with some crap about the other store across town being the ONE with the Buell techs and parts(that's what that parts manager said Bird), If your gonna fly the flag, serve the customer...period! |

Geez, what a bunch of Nancy boyz, so sensitive! My local HD dealer is anti Buell, but then I've noticed they're not much friendlier to the HD guys that aren't part of "the club". So what, I don't buy much from them but I don't waste a bunch of time and emotion on them either. Langperf you should have spoken up, most of those fat and greasy harley types (I'm one, LOL) have a pretty good sense of humor. "Life ain't easy when you're fat and greasy!" |

I've been keeping up with this post and it seems there is no rhyme or reason to where bad Buell customer service is. I'm assuming Buell is aware of this? If not they should be. If I were any part of Buell I would be very upset that I was busting my butt to come out with new, improved and updated only to know that the people in the field were dropping the ball and turning customers away. I understand they're dependent upon HD to display and sell their bikes it's just very unfortunate to a majority of Buell owners that we have to endure the hassle. |

One of them!! Wow gutsy. I bet that new rotax motor makes then squirm, Eeeew its liquid cooled.I wonder how many hd-buell dealers actually have one on the floor. And for that matter i wonder if they are required to stock them at certain locations. |

It would be cool to have Buell only dealerships. Also would be nice if Buell could just buy their stock back and just break off from HD completely. Hmmm. Oh well. USA Baby!! |

>>>I don't know of ANYONE(except maybe Court), who hasn't had a bad experience with a dealership with a HD Buell sign, and BAD customer service. i've had many such occasions, intervene in many and have a bad reputation of getting on a bike or in an airplane and going to investigate. Over the years I've orchestrated some "fixes". Some have worked rather nicely, some temporarily and some just never get it. Frankly there are times I wish I were more involved and confess to have been working on some stuff lately. It is the next, in my mind, huge Buell hurdle. Why would a Rotax motor bother a good mechanic? I started a thread about Customer Service a while back and need to revisit it. School's in the way now, but I have not forgotten. Huge difference between complaining on the internet and doing something about a problem. I've always been kind of a do-er. |

Preybird (and others) you will probably not be surprised to find the problem you guys have come across with ignorant HD dealers is International. I am pretty interested in the 1125CR, which is not yet released in the UK. I have dropped into my local HD / Buell dealer twice to ask about the launch date, both times the place had a lot more staff than customers (first time, five staff, four customers second time, five staff two customers). Both times I looked at the Buells, looked at the other bikes and back to the Buells, both times I was completely ignored. I have bought parts from the same dealer, and the parts guys are OK. They are happy to pull out the right parts book (I have an 98 S3), and have supplied the right parts. My experience is far from unusual and on UKBEG forum we have around four or five dealers in the whole UK that we think are Buell friendly / knowledgeable. Must be a corporate thing. Goodness knows what will happen when the MV Augusta bikes arrive. HD's and MV's in the showroom, Buells and Cagivas pushed in a corner somewhere. |
