Dyna, Aaron came back at you pretty hard, but I gotta say, he is being honest in what he says. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about with the "lifestyle" remarks. More than any other group I've seen, Buell riders seem far more to be about just enjoying riding than anything else. To wit, the recent gathering in Colorado had guys riding Buells, Harley's, BMW's Triumphs, and Ducatis. It wasn't about the bikes. It was about riding and sharing the fun with like minded people. If that's elitist, well, color me elitist I guess. I didn't even have a bike to ride up there. I did jump on a parked R1150GS and make vroom-vroom noises though. And once again you can't help but project your own unfortunate experience onto others who are perfectly satisfied with their Buell(s). Yes many Buells have reliability issues, but as demonstrated by the ongoing survey, the majority of Buells are performing satisfactorily for their owners. I'm now trying to type with my nose in the air, adnit aain;t workin out to well. hmmmph! |

I accidentally left the confuser dialed up only to return just now and find the monitor on fire. I haven't seen this much action since the Democrats tried to steal the election in Florida. Oh shit honey! Roll up a fatty and put on a fresh pot of coffee this is a good one and I just said the "D" word on top of it. JB2 - |

And I hope you come to grips with your need to put other people down just because they don't see things the same way. Generally that sort of thing is rooted in low self-esteem. |

Buells suck Buells suck Buells suck Damn nothing. Oh well it was worth a try. Nite boyz. Sweet dreams of salt racing Aaron. I really am satisfied with my computer. This computer has allowed me to link up with a lot of people I would never have met otherwise. And I have had quite a lot of fun. This computer has changed my life. It crashes, and loads slowly and doesn't have much power, but I feel comfortable working on it. Its more than just a computer, its a life style. Paul |

Dyna, I 've been seeing your cry-baby posts for weeks now on all Buell related boards and its getting old. I think that why you awoke Aaron. Erik Buell is a very cool guy, and has worked very hard to make Buells fun and very entertaining bikes. I didn't like the older comments you made on ATC about intentionally hurting Buell and him. I have seen the company do much, much more for their owners than any other bike company I know of. Maybe they don't like you? You're probably a decent guy and I'm sorry your bike broke out of warrenty. gb |

Maybe they don't like you? You're probably a decent guy and I'm sorry your bike broke out of warrenty. ================================================= Well guess what? I dont like them much either. And for your info the bike broke while in warranty 5 times. The first time it was 2 months old. Call me a crybaby, I really dont give a shit. Tell me how you would feel if you invested over $13,000 in a bike & the engine would blow 3 times? Buell doesnt care about me or any of the other people who have been screwed over by their inferior products, why should I care about them? If I intentionally or unintentionally take a few sales away from them...GOOD. Hit them in the only place they know, the all mighty $$$$$. Buells as a fun bike? Sure are when they run. Not fun when you are on vacation & the damn thing dies & you are 65 miles away from your hotel. And you have seen Buell do much more for their owners than any other company? Like what? Give away free shocks, new engines, exhaust hangers & straps, motor mounts, isolators, body work, speedo sensors, kick stands. Thats not doing shit for the consumer. Thats meerly owning up to the fact that you built shit with obvious safety defects that could cost people their lives. I tell you what, if anyone I was related to was hurt becasue of any safety defect on a Buell, like the exhaust dropping & causing a pole vault or similar situation, that company would be in the midst of the largest lawsuit they had ever imagined. |

I haven't posted in a while but I see that the Buell bashing is still alive and well so I'll offer the following points to consider: I'm a well rounded 280 pounder with a 2001 S3T. There aint no chicken strips on my tires (fifth set now) and I have over 22K on the odo now. Only things that have gone wrong so far have been 3 speedo sensors which with the last one I fixed a filter onto the power supply feeding it and it has lasted 10K miles so far, 2 oxygen sensors for slow response, and 2 cracked saddle bag inners (probably cause I overstuffed them). Point 1. Buell doesn't make their own sensors but they replace them anyway. point 2. The engineering is quite sound if it will stand up to the abuse from my fat ass on a daily basis. Not to mention that the road I ride daily drops about 600 feet within about 5 miles with nasty bumps and switchbacks. point 3. I never heard of a stock or Buell manufactured race muffler falling off. Only the aftermarket ones until they finally got it right. point 4. Thunderstorm engines are as reliable as any other air cooled engine and if your style of engagement to the road is anything like your mouth, then I can understand why you blew it up. point 5. If hyper speed and horsepower are what you want then you obviously don't have a clue what Buells are all about. I.E. you pick the wrong tool for the job and you're gonna break something. Can't blame the tool for your own stupidity. Moral of this story: Shut the fuck up and go away you moron. I'm tired of hearing you whiney crybabies bitch and moan when all your problems were probably your own fault. |

I have to agree with Steve. Dyna probably just rode his into the ground. He will probably say he didn't but he must realize the Buell is not a Honda or Yamaha. Them bikes are friggin bullet proof. I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep my X1 but by God I love it. If I do happen to trade I will definitely keep a V-twin or V-four. |

This is ridiculous? If you don't like the bike. Shut up and buy something else I don't care to hear it. For God sake please get over it!! Endless arguments over what is better is the most counterproductive drivel I've ever heard. I think each owner weighs the plus and minus and makes the right decision for themselves and as far as best brands I have a friend that owns a Ducati dealership and another that is head salesman at a Harley/Buell dealership and you know what they both like motorcycles and for the most part enjoy riding just about anything with two wheels regardless of what it says on the tank. |

Now this may get long so be patient. I have been reading this whole discussion(can we still call it that?)and cat fight is what comes to mind. People here suggesting other folks here are a few matches short of a book...tsk, tsk. I never thought things would get this bad. The issues are: Dyna and a few others(quite a few) have lost something that they paid good money for and were emotionally attached to and with no compensation what-so-ever. Now that they are miserable, they would like some commiseration. Misery loves company, you know. They have a right to be miserable and mad and vengeful, no doubt about that. There is no excuse for the failures that some have experienced with our beloved motorcycles. But, to insinuate that one is possibly stupid or may have some other mental malfunction, simply because one still likes his/her choice in motorcycle is CHILDISH. Also, to point fingers at the one who is dissatisfied with his/her purchase and suggest that the motorcycle self destructed by some fault of the owner is ludicrous as well. Looking down ones nose at another person for whatever reason, whether it be the way one rides, how much one rides, what one rides, or the fact that someone does or does not even want to ride is a lighter version of what Hitler had in mind. I am appalled by it. Dyna is pissed...that's O.K., he has full rights to his anger, he earned it. But please don't call anyone, who doesn't jump ship as well, a moron. On the other hand no one should guess that Dyna did anything wrong to further the demise of his ride. Hatred is a nasty virus, for which there is no cure. You have to battle it day by day on your own and be vigilant to try not to infect those you love. Dyna, don't try to destroy the one thing that was good about your Buell experience. Again it's your right to be angry, just don't get mad when I'm not. Thank you for your patience and have a great day! |

Pammy, thanks for being the lone voice of sanity in this sea of lost souls. To anyone else, you can make all the accusations you want. ya sure my bike broke & its all my fault. same thing with all of the other people who have had issues, its all their fault. What an assinine comment. If you have no idea on my riding style or upkeep of my bike, or for that matter the manner in which my local dealer works on & repairs said bike, then shut the fuck up. And the childish & petty threats are downright ignorant. Perhaps everyone should be impressed or scared when someone states "I weigh 280" big fuckin deal, probably just a fat lard ass with a massive beer gut. I go 220 myself&ifanyone at anytime wants to have a go at me, Id be more than happy to kick your ass. BTW Pammy, Im not mad at anyone who has a happy buell experience. What pisses me off is when someone tries to tell me I have no right to have had a BAD experience & that it must somehow be my fault. Just because you people have not experienced the breakdowns & the poor customer service..both on the dealership & the company lvl does not mean it doesnt exist. |

Anony-break-in-questioner, Just post your questions, and they'll probably be answered. Most people just follow the printed break-in procedure in their little owner's manual that came with the bike. Some people also take the time to check over the bike very closely for loose bolts or nuts that may come loose during the initial miles, or things that may settle in a bit and get slightly out of shape during riding (like some air boxes on M2's are noted to have done as the plastic cures more, or whatever else has caused some to have air leaks). Some will change the oil and maybe the filter after the first hundred miles under the assumption that any residual bits of metal that may get free during the initial break-in will get taken care of, then they will do another oil and filter change at 500 or 1000 miles. Other people just ride and don't worry about the details as long as nothing happens. So, with all that said, if you have a specific question then post it here, or else go rummage around in the knowledge vault or use the search function and see what pops up. It does help to know what kind of bike you are breaking in. Partly because it helps people to give you better answers, and partly just because we tend to be nosey. Speaking of which, why the anony-post? You didn't flame anyone. |
