I am thinking of trying to get an iron butt certificate before the month is out. I have a close friend who races a pro-mod class boat nationally on the IHBA circuit, they are having a very large televised race in Phoenix at the end of the month. I have been to about six of the races so far this year. They actually let me crew for them....nothing major, running valves, fueling and blower pulleys and stuff. I am wondering....1240 miles each way. anyone made this route and who should I contact about it before I leave? suggestions? for the record the boat has run as quick as 6.82 and as fast as 187mph (in the quarter!!!!!). |

Sam, go to Ironbutt.com. You can down load all the info and forms needed. If you have any questions, Bob or I can help. Check it out. Its fairly simple for the Saddle Sore 1000. After the first 5 or 6 hundred miles, its a cake walk. Just watch out for fatigue. It can be a killer. (I know, I'm preaching again). Go get it. |

Do you guys wanna do something like that? Does anyone have any input as far as destination, days, etc.? We ought to run down to cassady(?) some time...maybe head down to AR some weekend? I dunno...let's get together Frank |

Frank; the place is The Sunshine Cafe in DeSoto, every Sunday morning at 9am. Show up there and I'll clue ya in. And hold the whining about mornings! Lets see more than 2 Buells there this week! We could have a wheelie contest (since I'm leaving town anyway). Tripper |

Hey Tripp...That's in friggin' Kansas...My first clue was when I saw that the horizon in the pics looked to be about 25 miles distant...Also I noted several barnyard animals flying through the air and that clinched it... There's a SLAB ride this Sunday...Watch our thread for it's lunch destination... Any of you want to come in to STL for the moto show in November?...The motel has two vacancies as of right now and the price is right... See Ya! Bob |
