Cityxslicker, what brackets are you using for those axillary lights? |

Anyone have a picture of these lights without the little rubber/plastic covers of the back of the bulbs?

but you would also need two high beam housings What's the difference in the housings, and if you buy a second high beam, is it easily bolted on? Won't the holes be reversed? Or are they symetrical? |

the housings look pretty similar to me?! Mike take a closer look. The bulbs inside are aimed differently. It's not an optical illusion that one of the bulbs is "looking" at you, and the other not. Oh yeah! Glad to hear you're going to make Buelltoberfest! |

It was a hardware anglebar find modded up by a fellow ULY driver. Actually most of the mods are done in that garage. The light set is probably the next mod. Money and time need to mesh. |

Tarshi, I'm all for HID's but those appear to have NO upper cutoff at all?! Please say I'm wrong. But thanks for showing me that two ballasts will fit nicely behind the S fairing! |

Mike, I cutoff like your way. The two ballasts put into fairing but I had to remove horn because no room for 2 ballasts. |

A few have done it. Also, HID's run cooler than the OEM halogen, so they may be better for the notorious reflector problems the R's have. |

www.starrotors.com/bulbs/ For those that want a kit for about 100 bucks. Where I got my HID kit, still works just as good as it did the day I installed it. (Message edited by mr2shim on September 27, 2008) |

The VVME kit posted above in this thread, and has a huge thread about it over in the Big Bad and Dirty section, runs about $65 shipped... but doesn't come with the small ballasts like that kit might. I have the VVME kit in my car, and I installed one in my buddies car. They work great so far. I have a kit waiting at home for when I pick up my XB. |

put the horn in the off set right hand side like the Cop Uly does. Hell get the big megaphone and air blast attached to it to really wake up traffic. Then you have all that room under the screen for the ballasts. |

I got the VME in 4300K That's what I have in my car, what I installed in a buddies car, and what I have sitting in my bedroom waiting for my XB. It is pure white... with just barely ever so slight hint of blue. No yellow whatsoever, but not BLUE like the ones posted above. I love them. |

put the horn in the off set right hand side like the Cop Uly does. How did you mount it? Have a picture? |

The bracket for the siren mount is part number L2246.1AU but it may be a bit overly conspicuous. I'll try to post photos if I get a chance. However with the Strebel horn behind the windscreen . . nothing, including the EZ-Pass will fit. This may required some thought. |

got the VVME kit, too... although, i went ahead and tried something different: ordered the 3000K (foglight yellow) bulbs and upgraded to the slim ballasts. only installed the low beam, though... i'm pretty amazed. during the warm-up phase, the light is a crazy vibrant, slimer green. i will probably not even install the high beam. here's a pair of vids on the warm-up |
