Is it the plastic lens yellowing? If so that can be polished out. |

On my S1, with the glass lens, there were several metal clips that held the halves together. Pop them out, and it split open. Dean |

Yeah, that class comes off. If it's like my '99 there is a screw in the bottom that pulls it tight. Loosen said screw then the chrome bezel will pry off, yes it will, it's just tight. |

Personally, I would ge a replacement european hella or cibie headlight, and upgrade to a 90/100 bulb, you will actually be able to see at night! |

Very scary. well i want the dual kit the americansportbike has but want to see them on a x1 first as i saw one before and it looked terrible. the headlights were way to small and a huge void was there and it looked like the headlight fell out! |

Hey oldog how are you? Hey i pulled out the headlight. Pulled it from the metal ring and am left with the lamp housing glass and a rubber gromet sandwiched between the glass front of housing and the back, This is what i was hoping separated into to pieces but it either doesnt or its stuck. I used a tiny flat head to try and separate them but i could hear the glass chipping under pressure, i even tried a long wooden dowel on the inside pressing out and it didnt budge. So it seems it wont separate, And i dont want to break it. I wonder if its glued together. Thanks oldog maybe thats what ill do untill i get the money for new projector lights. |

Good here bird. I was afraid that the components are cemented together if it had been intended to be serviced the wire bales would likely have been something different. Thanks for the heads up the hid kit is an automotive 1 lamp h4 kit the lamp is on a moving base inside a shroud the ballast is about 3x3x1 the only problem is that the wiring and connectors get busy behind the housing mine has been in service since the spring and its been largly ok, the connectors are good but if any pull is exerted on the lamp pigtail it will not stay lit you will get 3 or 4 flashes as ballast fires to strike it then nada. The biggest problem I have had is the cheap switch i put in line for restart, If the hi/low flip trigger was relaible and could be seprated from the hi / lo circuit that would make an ideal restart switch I have considered trying pouring isopropyl alcohol into the housing and then mopping it out, leaving the residue to evaporate, I have no idea of what it will do to the reflector. I went looking for the install thread and I cant find it. From the porch. (Message edited by oldog on September 28, 2008) |

Well thanks oldog, I am going to the dual headlight set up that American sport bike has but its pricy$ Hey if you put in the dual headlight set up do both the lights works at the same time. Or just one. I don't like just one, I purposely didn't buy a bike just because of the one light thing! You know im half tempted to drill the silicone out of housing that holds the bulb stop in...You know the little center piece with 3 prongs, And using right stuff to re-assemble it after cleaning and. It would offer much greater access to the cleaning job! |
