Well, I have been home for several hours now, and I can say that this has been the best vacation I have ever taken. It was great to be able to put faces and names together, make new friends, and see some old friends as well. Steve(Maximum), you have a great son in Sean and I hope he heals quickly. I also laughed at your wife's comment that now she doesn't have a bike to ride. To everyone else that I met and swapped stories and advice and tech tips with, it could not have been a better week. It was cool to be treated like the VIP's that we are at Summerfest (Thanks Laura), and I look forward to doing this again and again. Now I just have to put in for vacation for BUELLTOBERFEST. Bob |

Hey everyone, Sean flew home on Sunday and is doing fine...and Troy and I rode home Sunday and Monday. About 1200 miles and two days...we got home at 9:30 last night. I wanted to apologize for the distractions (of the parade lap crash) to an otherwise great day of racing. I'm glad that his incident did not directly impact anyone else on the track at that time. I wrote a post of the incident (to the best of my knowledge) on my trip thread over in the "Big, Bad and Dirty" section. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/371855.html?1215552348 Other than dealing with that, it was a great Homecoming. |

I got home yesterday evening after staying with Steve & Toni for homecoming (thanks again!) Homecoming keeps getting better every year. It is great seeing everyone, even if I have a hard time putting faces to the names I was really impressed by Laura's efforts and those of the Buell team. They really went the extra mile to make the events go off smoothly and make Southern Wisconsin feel like home no matter where we came from. I was also impressed (as usual) with the Buell owners present. It is an incredibly good feeling to know that when a Buell rider breaks down every other Buell rider that happens across them will stop and see if they can do anything to help. Two years ago when the "Friday night Buell relay team" helped me it was no fluke. It was just the Buell way. That in NO WAY diminishes the efforts of those involved in helping their fellow riders! Quite the contrary, it serves to contrast Buell riders from any other group of riders I've ever known. Thank you to every one that said hello to me and/or lent me a hand over homecoming. While I am a fiercely independent person I do appreciate the occasional hand up. Also for those that asked about my brother Michael, and the racing effort: He wishes he could have been there and we hope to be back racing next year...if not sooner. |

What and awesome week! I really enjoyed myself. Everyday there was something fun to do. Big thanks to Buell, Laura (what's her last name?) and everybody I got to talk to and see. Homecoming is an event every Buell owner should go to at least once! Drake - Tulsa, OK (Message edited by dtx on July 08, 2008) |

I get pretty excited thinking about the pics but gotta realize that they probably took over 10,000 pics between all the staff photographers on duty. (bet the number is actually higher than that) They will need time to review the mountain of images - and you can bet they're also going to post a video or two. All that stuff takes tons of time. While I bet they'll have one or two images posted pretty soon, they've got their work cut out for them if they're going to post an "album" of sorts. Having had to suffer through filtering a TON of images on projects for public release, I'd be inclined to give them a good month or more before more than a few photographs are posted. (but of course, I still want them to HURRY!) |

we talk to Chad, who was one running the camera's and he said it will be sometime in August before pics and vidoes will be released...that could change as more people demand it, but that what we were told! |

Many thanks to all of the photographers who were taking pictures during the event. I now actually have some photos of me on my Ulysses as well as great photos of the numerous wonderful people that I met at the 25th. It really is great to re-live the event through the photos on the website. Thanks again guys and gals. Bob PS...I especially want to thank the photographer who shot the picture of me coming up the hill at Road America...to me it is priceless. |

One thing I wanted that I didn't get done last year because I had to work the day of the Factory stuff, that I wanted to do this year...was to get Erik's autograph on my bike...I was really bummed I didn't get it done...2 years in a row now. |

The trick was to take a piece of your bike to the line where he was signing books and posters. I took my inner air box and got that signed. With the "see-thru" top cover, the sig is safe. Z |

Had the exact same issue: My first thought was to go get my bike and push the damn thing through the line! Since I was blocked in though, there was NO way I was gonna start moving people's bikes and take the chance of dropping it. Ended up pulling off the aircleaner top and running that through the line instead. Zac is right though, looks pretty slick under the see thru plastic! |
