My G27 is quite compact and sportin 10 of the hollowest lead hunks I hopefully never have to unleash. Confidence in what you carry is all that matters though. I had a beautifully handling Taurus at one time. Ultra compact, titanium slide, just gorgeous. But it wouldn't hold the maximum # rounds in the clip w/out jamming and the front sight kept coming loose(even after loctite). So I sent it in for a warranty claim and it still was never right. Now, the other dark and lovely I carry, errorless... Check the 'net for G torture test videos. Unbelievable what they subject that thing to. NUTS |

The show was dizzying. Good and shoddy everywhere. Found a used S&W AR, and found out I needed two ID's for an assault weapon. Been a long time since I bought a weapon. Got the XD Sub in 40. Very different than anything else. Grip safety and trigger safety, and no other safety. If you grip it and pull the trigger, it will fire. The only sub with a mount for accessories under the barrel. I got a laser. Need a holster to fit the laser. Still "need" the AR. Spikes?? |

Hey Nuts - What's the best day/time to meet up with you to get those riding pants? Finally getting the MRS course done this weekend and could really use those as overpants for commuting. |

Anyone home? I'll be asking Huckleberry to haul me south towards Tuggles Gap this morning. Taking it nice and easy due to the 2 days of rain and heavy fog. Not very NUTS at all.. |

I've been busy as hell with work .... and enjoying my new-found freedom now that I'm riding legally & all. Thanks again for those pants, Nuts. A pair of needle-nose pliers and some elbow grease got that zipper freed up, although I tore up the zipper head pretty good getting it unjammed. I dare not unzip it again until I decide to take 'em somewhere to get that head replaced. |

Terible loss. Newman, Funny and serious at the same time. Been exploring different rifle avenues.. Intrigued by the Mini-14 Target.. ..and the Rem 700, for a custom build. The Mini is expensive, but the Rem could cost thousands if it ever gets completed. |

Well I'll chime in and say I'm anticipating the arrival of a Kahr MK40 right before Halloween. Small, powerful and easily carried. Its either that or the Para Ordinance Slim Hawg Stainless. Gotta decide if the 1911 style is for me but I sure like how it looks. Can you fellas say BLING BLING ? |

Nuts, Don't worry about coming out of the woods to get me. I have been grounded. The wife has a home party planned with her little business partner and said if I want the money to buy the new toy then I've gotta give some which means I'm watching Kali and the dog all day long. Sucks but I want the gun and I'm not gonna argue about it since she is working over to get it for me. Good luck to ya and hope you get the king of the woods. Lord knows you have put the time into it this year. |

Bz-congrats on the quick fix. I'll be happy to see you out on the roads. If you ever seea blue Uly with the brightest of yellow jackets, say, Hi. Tank-Ammo is getting utra expensive. Decide whether you are going to be a shooter or an aficianado. Nothing wrong with either choice; one just has more cleaning to do. Turtleslugger, I have not the words... Charlie, the leaves are changing and they all miss you. Todd just got back from the eastern half of the TAT. 3k miles of dirt. Ole NUTSY couldn't go. |

Jackie, Just looked at your choices, and I gotta say.. ..A days work for a piece in that price range aint such a bad trade-off!! Bling, Bling?? Seems I prefer "Black Tact.". That Hawg is purty, though. Nuts, +1 on the ammo...geez! I sure aint no aficianado, so I guess it's a good thing I bought a new cleaning kit. The tough thing is that there are only two rifle ranges near here. One is out in the woods and is basically an unsupervised free-for-all. The other is an "exclusive" club type place that I couldn't afford to be a member of if I wanted to. (Message edited by Tank_Bueller on October 04, 2008) |

Charlie, You going 6 million dollar man on us? Cyclone Charlie, motorcycle rider. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. Better, stronger, faster. . Seriously though, I'm sure you will do fine. I worked Physical Therapy for 7 years and most knee and hip replacement brought the recipients much relief and gave them back more mobility than they had in years. Scary thing but you'll be back on the Cyclone in no time my friend. |

Jackie, Ashame I don't know somebody in the business, I'd rebuild more than a knee But it's good to know you have some experience in the therapy,I might need some advice on what to expect as far as down time. Don't like down time and I'm still riding, just not as much. And very careful on which side I lean to when I stop.(ouch) |

Charlie, Its bow season and the Nutster and I are trying to get a deer or three in the freezer. So far one close call (yep I missed) but for the most part we just hang out in the woods and watch squirrels. You ain't missing much other than some of the prettiest scenery that God created, the company of two good friends, the changing leaves, cool mountain breezes and all the splendors that nature cares to show us. Does that help you deal with the withdrawals |

All right Jack, Lets have a game report or something. All this silence is killing me. Need some pic's or something. Must be getting cold up there by now, are all the leaves gone yet? About time for squirrel hunting? Winter must be coming to the "Low Country", I saw an Armadillo yesterday with a sock hat and mud boots. |

Charlie, Not a whole lot to report I'm afraid. The deer seem to be getting smater each year and we have yet to get one in the freezer. Surpisingly the leaves are hanging tough and haven't started falling in large numbers yet here in the valley. Up at the Nuts homestead I hear the trees are already bald but you know how it is in the Highlands. Its pretty much winter 6 months out of the year up there . Next Saturday kicks off muzzleloader season so perhaps we will have pictures and some tasty backstrap to share come Monday. I did get the pleasure of watching a doe cruise past me yesterday at about 55 yards through the thick stuff. Watched her for about 30 minutes and never got close enough for a shot. Then last night as I'm taking the garbage out I look over in the field and a 12 point buck is bedded down by my big oak. Seems all the trophies live right beside my house including a solid white yearling spike. Believe me its all I can do not to throw an arrow through their vitals. Why didn't you catch that armadillo and make you some tasty vittles? I hear they eat pretty good. |

Love that Blue! I tried the new "heater", and I think it might be a "second". It holed paper 1.5-2" left at 10yds. I shot a box through, first 20 at 10, rest of box at 25. Good group, left of center? The Ruger don't do that. I might get the range owner to hole paper and see what he thinks. Got a new toy...12ga Maverick. |

Tank, I picked up the Kahr MK40. This little gun is AWESOME!! Good size caliber in a small package makes it the perfect CCP gun. Since I spent all my money on the gun I bought a cheap ole' $10.00 Uncle Mike IWB holster and I gotta tell ya' its the most comfortable holster I have ever used. I've only put about 30-40 rounds through it and it took several clips to realize that all you gotta do is point and shoot to hit the target even at 25 yards. Believe it or not, the Nutster is the one who figured that out when he shot it. I was missing all over the place and he takes it and ping, ping, ping, ping, ping! I said dude how did you line up the sights. He says I didn't I just pointed it . After that my next 2 clips went very well indeed when I did my part. If you ever bring that dirt bike back over here maybe you can bring a few choice weapons and we can hit the range. |

Charlie, the motor in Huckleberry is what the first Uly should have been. It runs great for what it is... an air/oil cooled mill that uses oil, is loud and doesn't play well above 7k rpm. I have anew set of bags on there way to me next week so we can be free of the Buell case disasters. They hold a lot but aren't what I'm needing. Tank, looks like your new hobby has you forgetting about the motorized toys. It will make the return sweeter. NUTS |

Nuts, Glad your happy with the bike. Personality is in the torque and torque works best in the lower rpm band, not to mention longevity. Get a motor with a lot of torque that turns ten grand and your riding a hand grenade.I don't care for bikes that turn 15 grand to get power and can't get out of the way below 6 grand. But that's just me. |

Nice pics! I recognize some of that terrain. Point and shoot aint cuttin' it for me. Not when an out of the box piece is off that far. I could use a laser, but that's cheating. I'm off at Christmas, from Eve til the 5th. Might just get on the Blue Beast and haul ass. Got heated grips, ya know! |
