Some of you may be aware that my new 1125CR is behind schedule in getting to me. I talked to my dealer again this afternoon, and my bike has still not shipped and is in a status of "released to plant", which thanks to some folks here I know means it hasn't been built yet, but it's in line, so to speak. It was scheduled to ship on Sept. 12. My dealer gave a call to someone - not sure who exactly - but was told that they're running about 3 weeks behind right now. Whoever he spoke to said she would keep an eye on my order in particular and give him a call when something changes or it gets closer to being done. Does anyone know if the factory is able to tell the difference between an order for a dealer that's for stock and an order that is already owned by a customer (like mine)? Are other dealer's noticing 1125CRs coming in late? I know not much can be done about this, but it's frustrating none-the-less with the riding season slowly coming to a close up here. On top of it, I have the Inside Pass track day to go to on Oct. 12, and according to all the timelines I've been given, I'll have a week to get my bike out of break-in (620 miles), install the things I need to install, and do the first service. Very doable, just a bit rushed given the time of year. My luck, it'll rain it all week, lol. Trying to keep my spirits up by reading up on the thing and ordering parts (I just ordered the stuff I need to make the accessory plug for the GPS). And to think, I was among the first to put a deposit on one. Back to being patient... Sorry for the moan and groan session, but the girlfreind is getting tired of hearing it |

This is probably opposite of what you want to hear but given the choice, I would choose to wait as long as it took for a bike built good and well rather than have them rush the build and possibly miss something that would result in a trip (or several) to the dealer to fix. |

I was at California Harley/Buell today and they had two on the floor and neither had a sold sign. |

Two red ones and a black one at the 3 dealers closest to me. laid eyes on the red ones, heard about the black one. Ride the bus over, crash on my couch then ride home. |

Doon - you can bet your ass I'm going to be in the mood for some loooooong rides. Metal - I agree. Last thing I want is a rushed build. I know nothing can be done so I'm just having a little b!tch fest to try and make myself feel better. Df, Swampy and Bad - Thank you again for pointing out the many dealers have MULTIPLE CRs just sitting on the floor, while I, a chas-in-hand customer has to wait for one. I'm tempted to take you up on the bus trip, lol. I just spent $200 on turn signals. This thing needs to show up before I go broke buying parts for it... |

Hell yeah, and Bads is only like half an hour from me! On a side note, Lake Erie H-D said they're not getting one until October. I reminded my wife as a possible birthday present. She said, "Maybe." I'm interpreting that as a 'yes' |

Teeps - I think it's a great question as well. It's a little annoying to think that there are a slew of dealers out there which have more than one of these bikes just sitting on the floor with no buyers in line, when my dealer is stuck waiting on a bike that's already sold. My guess would be that it doesn't matter, and has more to do with when each dealer placed their order for them. If mine happened to place their order later, then they should get it later. |

correction, 3 dealers near me each have one. Sorry for the confusion. My apartment is only a few miles south of the ohio turnpike (I-80), and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is in my back yard (Lots of twisties!!) |

Well, it looks like I was looking at the calendar wrong. I thought, given the "3 weeks behind" quote I was told that my bike would be shipping today. In fact, weeks from my original date would be NEXT friday (if they're not any later). My dealer told me it takes about a week for the bike and paperwork to show up and get everything prepped for me to pick up. Now this puts me at being able to get the bike the day before I would have to leave for this track day. I'm not a happy camper. |

Oh, and to top it off, the other dealer close to me just got a black 1125CR in (exactly like I want), except I can't STAND them (the dealer). Do dealer's do swap bikes ever? Or transfer from another dealer? |

Sucks to have to wait. Dealers can swap inventories, but depending on the dealerships involved, there's no guaranty they will. Hope you get what you want in time for your trackday. You'll love it when you get it. Very smooth, more low end grunt than the R. Had a blast riding one on Tuesday at the Inside Pass. |

I just called my dealer to ask. They coudln't be sure if they could do the swap, but before they checked they looked up my order again. Ship date is still listed 9/12, but the status is "In Progress". She gave a call to the factory rep or whatever it is and was told that MY BIKE IS DONE!!! It's basically just waiting for a truck at this point, and they expect it to go out early next week. Looks like I should get this thing JUST in time. Normally I woudln't be this worked up about it, but with my track day as a deadline I was getting nervous. I can breathe a little easier. |

Just got back from California Buell/H-D. They have one on the floor, in black, $11,695 + T&L and it's yours. They also have 1/2 dozen R's too. |

At inside pass, don't you get to ride their bikes? Why beat up your own brand new bike if you can thrash one of theirs? |

At inside pass, don't you get to ride their bikes? Why beat up your own brand new bike if you can thrash one of theirs? Yes, but I've really wanted to do a trackday for the learning experience, and learning on your own bike is a lot of it. I do plan on trying other bikes, but I'd like to spend a lot of time on mine. I look forward to reading about that happy day Don't count on it. I'll likely be MIA for a while... |
