In case anyone hasn't heard, Timbo Horton had a get off over the weekend on Aaron Wilson's NRHS bike at about 180mph. According to Aaron: "Timbo went down at about 180mph. Broke his left arm in multiple places and also has fractures in his left hand. No internal injuries or spinal column injuries or anything like that. He's in the hospital in Salt Lake City and they're operating now. It's hard to describe how bad we all feel. This is my worst nightmare come true, that someone would get hurt. I've been fortunate, in that I've been racing in various venues for 30 years and never been hurt or had anyone on my team get hurt. This really changes my perspective. I mean, you always know it can happen, and you always fear it, but it really hits home when it happens. Timbo is someone I like a lot and count as a good friend. I feel just terrible. The accident was caused by a faulty part, something that's been on the bike for 7 seasons and never given us even a hint of an issue. About the last thing in the world I would have ever expected to fail. I really don't want to get into it though. We were planning on converting to nitro today and running for 220. Thankfully this didn't happen at that kind of speed, it would've been much worse." He is in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, but he'll have a tough road ahead with rehab and all. I spoke to him today in the hospital and he sounded in really good spirits and said, "Tell everyone that I'll be okay and that I'll be back." Just wanted everyone to know one of the good guys is still around! --Sean} |

Timbo had 8-1/2 hours of surgery yesterday and, when I spoke to him and his Dad today, was headed back in for more. He expects to be headed home on Wednesday and is doing much better today. I told his Dad, who was surprised when he answered his cell phone and got "this is Court from New York City" and I told him I was calling on behalf of a couple thousand folks around the world who were keeping Timbo and family in their thoughts and prayers. He was doing fine in the 183MPH get off until the bike started cart-wheeling and, in a place where there ain't a thing in the world to hit, chased poor Timbo down and landed on him. . . . . still at over 100MPH. I told Timbo that on behalf of the entire Buell community we were disappointed in his first "personal flight" lesson and were going to get him a cape! For those of you who don't know him, Timbo Horton is about the nicest fellow to ever straddle a motorcycle and he is an incredibly talented rider. Hopefully we'll find someone is his area to serve as a point person to deliver cards and well wishes. Sean you are about to be volunteered. Court |

You could send them to me or Sean. Tim thought Sean might like to give them to him as he is also a close friend like yourself. I just talked to Tim and he is feeling a lot better. And I will let all know when the party will be. He would love to see all the Buellers. Thank guys, you don't know how much this means to Tim and myself, Chuck. Well Court it looks as if 3 people have beat you so far, In fact Eric form SCAB came by the shop to drop off a hand held card game for Tim. I stopped by his house on the way home to give it to him yesterday, His girlfriend Paula was there and his boys. His boys have been helping him out with things around the house and Paula had some smoothies for all. Thanks guys, Chuck. |

Hey Guys! I'm back home and at the keyboard, for limited stints anyway, it's kinda hard being a lefty and having to hack away with only my right. Heck I don't type that great with two hands let alone one <sheesh>. I just want to thank everyone, the support and prayers of so many incredible people is the best medicine a man could ever have. Court, I'll get you a list of those people who got cards to me before yours. You are crazy, and it's always good to hear from you. Eric, It's so cool you stopped by to see my bro, and I'm glad you gave me a game that can be played w/one hand. I'll prolly run down those batteries in no time. Again, Thank you so much to everyone. I will heal, and much better so with all your love and care. Timbo |

Tim, I was VERY sorry to hear about your get off. But,,, It's really great to hear you are on the mend. Are you at liberty to tell us what happened? (I know Aaron is very sensitive about this type of stuff so if you can't I understand. He's way too hard on himself sometimes but that's probably why he's so good at what he does..) Brad |

Timbo, Going down at 180, eh? Now there's some bragging rights! That must have been surreal. Not a whole lot of people have had that experience... Glad to hear you're back at home where you can get some tlc. We're all sending good healing thoughts your way! Learning to type one-handed can't be easy. I broke my left arm when I was young a couple of times and I had to write right-handed. Pulling pants up, using zippers, all the little things we take for granted. People who have permanent disabilities and maintain a positive outlook on life are truly inspiring. Sounds like your prognosis is good for a full recovery. That is SO GOOD to hear. best wishes, Joanne |

Just an update... Doc's say everything is looking good. Pain is getting less each day. I'm sleeping much better now. They re-wrapped it so now I can flex at my elbow, it's amazing how much movement you lose in just a couple weeks, but I'm working on it. Court, I got the book (25 Years of Buell) and all I can say is WOW. How cool is that! Great job. My brother wants one too. Is it available for purchase? I wholeheartedly endorse it to any and all Buell enthusiasts. Thanks again, Timbo |

Heal well and quickly Tim. And when you feel like it, take us all through the harrowing experience. I'm not up for trying that one myself, but I'd sure like to live it through your recollection. I have an extra 25 Years of Buell book. Let me know your address and I'll put it in the mail. God bless, Blake |

In retrospect and with tongue-in-cheek, I think Timbo deserves recognition for being the fastest man at Bonneville without a motorcycle! Glad to have you back, Timbo. Get well soon. Sparky |

>>>I have an extra 25 Years of Buell book. Let me know your address and I'll put it in the mail. Your too late. I figured we all needed to conspire to get "speedy" something to do while he was laid up for a couple days. |
