My front end pulsates under braking. I know my steering head needs to be tightened because I had to do this a couple years ago. I cant seem to find the section in the maintinence manual on the procedure. Could have sworn there was a section on it....or maybe I got the procedure here on the badweb, don't remember which. Could somebody point me in the right direction. I feel like I'm going cross eyed looking thru the manual. Thanx |

Most likely it is just build-up of brake pad deposits. If your brake disk has a splotchy appearance, that is likely the cause. A set of Lyndal brake pads will resolve the pulsing. Or you can clean/scrub the disk. |

Steering head bearing preload check is covered on page 1-38. |

Blake is correct. I had a similar problem, the Lyndall pads solved it. |

it could definately be the head bearings, i had the same problem. it was causing terrible shudders when using the brakes. |

It's unlikely you'd need to adjust head bearing preload twice. |
