This pic doesn't make me overly interested. Like the SS swing arm. Whacha all think?

Looks just like a 696. I think most folks could have called that. |

Very Nice... There is also a Naked 1098 rumor floating around as well.. |

Not so sure about that... the 696 doesn't have the single sided swingarm and what appears to be Marchesi (sp?) wheels... |

I saw one of the 696's and my gut reaction was that it somehow looked more Japanese and less Italian. I'm sure they are better in every measurable way than the outgoing Monsters, but it just didn't seem as sexy as previous years. Everyone has different tastes. Obviously the market will decide. |

I like that the exhaust is nicely tucked in. My fav's will always be the good ol' 900's. |

I am liking the 696 to replace the wife's bike I totaled last fall. I was talking to one of the folks at the local duc shop that was at the last dealer's show and he was the one who told me about the 1100. Same motor as the supertard. Now he also told of a super secret liquid street fighter that he refused to give any details about. Sounds interesting. The CR is tangible and much more interesting than the 1100 monster duc to me. I think the CR is the top of the heap for street fighters presently and plan on one for the spring. |

I like Ducati's air-cooled motors and I like the direction they've headed with the 696, so an 1100 version seems like it would make a great bike. However, the XB is still more livable as a daily ride. Somewhere between the two is my ideal next bike. |

IIRC bimoto is working on a naked 1098 take a look @ what they did with a 1000cc air cooled duc engine.

That Bimota is freaking hot. Looks oil cooled. I love the tube swing arm as well. If I were to do one thing different with it, I'd change the head light to a more round traditional one. With all the "stealth bomber" angles going on all ove the bike, a round headlight would off set that a bit...even an oval type V-Rod headlight would be cool. |

I'm just sayin' that if he went to that much trouble, he could have had the big bike with more power and all of that stock... |

Thumper - it is the real thing. The gent I know that was at the dealer's meeting saw the 1100S with some CF goodies. He said it was sweet but there is a bike coming that they are not allowed to talk about. He really wanted to tell me but I didn't push it. Doesn't really matter to me as I know I'll get way more out of a CR with a bit of mods and still have lots of change left over for my girls. |

I'm just sayin' that if he went to that much trouble, he could have had the big bike with more power and all of that stock... Why do we mod our Buells when we could have another bike with all the, insert mod(s) here ? |

Freezer, I was addressing Spidey. I don't think it's a modded 696, I think it's something else because of the single sided swingarm, Marchesi wheels, etc. Spidey, I see your point, but a lot of the upper end Ducs get Marchesi wheels from the factory. I was praying for a slipper and hydraulic clutch when I clutch cable broke in traffic today! |

696 or 1100--either way, what's the deal with that saddle? It looks purpose-built to cram your junk into the tank. Cool if that's what you're into, but it's not for me. |
