We have all types here and this video from the pics thread reminded me of a crazy song I used to like. It was a college radio station type of song, not mainstream. Along the Bitchin' Camaro lines it was called Veveeta. Google and youtube failed me. "Velveeta, velveeta, how I love to eat ya... Oh how I love my cheese...." That is about all I remember. Circa 1982 ??(<<edited to fix the year.) Anyone have a clue? (Message edited by miamiuly on September 22, 2008) (Message edited by miamiuly on September 22, 2008)

That's off the syndicated comedy show Bob and Tom. Check out their website and you'll probably find it. I think it's just called Toast.

Thanks but not the video, that just reminded me of the song I'm trying to find. It would almost have to be called, "Velveeta." Kind of punk, kind of in the spirit of Bitchin' camaro- funny punk, not angry punk. Maybe surfer punk if that is a category.

Sugar-coated girlfriends don't mean anything to me This song's about a girl who's soft and warm and cheap when I held her close to me she melted right away Velveeta was her name Velveeta, Velveeta, Velveeta... All my friends keep telling me "Frank, you must be sick. How can you have fun with a gooey processed chick?" But she's much more than that she's got a heart of gold and she does what she's told Velveeta, Velveeta, Velveeta... I want to tell her that I'll never go away but she keeps showing me her expiration date Girls may come, girls may go, but I know one thing for sure they stock Velveeta at the local grocery store and she'll be on the shelf until the end of time when we have to say goodbye Velveeta, Velveeta, Velveeta...

I thought kyrocket had found it, that is closer in style but not it. Definitely has the lyrics, "Velveeta, velveeta, how I love to eat ya." That is most of the song. Then a reprise (I think it's called) of "oh how I love my cheese, love my cheese..." something like that. A lot of songs about cheese out there! (Message edited by miamiuly on September 19, 2008)

Google is going to think there is a run on Velveeta now with us looking for this song. LOL. It could have been a local thing I guess. The recording quality was about like the song above. Maybe it was a live version of that song with the lyrics swapped around and changed some.. who knows. (Message edited by miamiuly on September 19, 2008)

I just can't believe Sirius/XM are axing the punk channel in favor of more arena rock (not that I don't love arena rock, too, but c'mon...). Thankfully, Slacker still has a fairly deep punk library.

"Winonas Big Brown Beaver"? Is Primus really punk? I don't know. I like em, wouldnt consider it punk though. Misfits, one of my all-time favorites. Thanks Glitch! Never saw that video. Miamiuly, I think I remember a song like that, just can't think of who did it. Killed a few brain cells in those days. It will come to me.

Nah, Primus isn't punk. They are just the edgier version of They Might Be Giants (another band I LOVE). Jody Foster's Army anyone?

Ok, Primus isn't really punk... But "Jerry was a Race Car Driver" was pretty cool. How about some Sex Pistols, Black Flag and Agent Orange?
