Had a Track day today at Mission Raceway. Put my stock exhaust on for the day because my HR1 is above the 88 decibel limit. Anyways, first lap turn two i throttled out and the bike dies, locked up the back tire and slid me along the pavement for a bit. After that first hickup the bike ran great. I think maybe it was re learning the fuel maps after the exhaust change and didn't like it? Bike was warm and everything. Anyways, still need to go get the re-map done. Aside from that, i now need a new left front rad pod and a new stator Cover for the side of the engine. Not too worried about the swing arm because im planning on getting the chain conversion as soon as i can. SO... Who can get me some prices on the side pod and the stator cover piece and... what is out there for sliders, pucks, engine protection? What is everyone running? |

For swingarm/fork protection, the Dark Horse Moto sliders work really well and are easy to install. Contact Keith at DarkHorseMoto to get set up... they come in a variety of finishes (metal and Delrin, etc.). To some extent, the Dark Horse Moto sliders work well to protect the engine, along with your side pods (which work great, too, and are on the cheap side). My Dark Horse Moto sliders have protected my shift and rear brake levers from rubbing against painted metal, in case of a fall, too. As for your ignition cover, there's a small plastic puck on there already, but you may have found it's ground through to metal. A similar stock puck came on the clutch side, but the "Rev. B" secondary clutch cover for the 1125R (I think it's stock on the '09s) has a much thicker puck. Maybe there'll be a "Rev. B" ignition cover, too... would make sense. Maybe someone can chime in with information. Oh yeah, the engine cover paint (grey finish) is called "Fuzion (or Fusion?) Bronze"... you may need that for touch up. Good luck fixing things! |

Even on a really slow laydown (when you forget to deploy kickstand) the rear axle slider took a sight hit....probably would have scuffed the swingarm if not installed. |
