Went to get my new rear signal indicator replaced, order parts from the crash, and see if my dealer had the re-flash yet. Ended up there in a meeting with the owner because the staff there all refer to me as "the Buell guy". Long story short I am the new service writer for Heritage Harley Davidson / Buell in Edmonton AB Canada.... |

Hey, at least if they are open to new ideas, maybe I can grow the Buell end... |

Wow... it's like the crash happened for a reason. That's awesome. If I ever move back to Canada, I'll be comin' to see ya! (Message edited by pariah on September 19, 2008) |

Dude, Thats the same way I got my job as "the buell guy" at Beartooth HD/Buell! Er, well I was trying to hit on one the Harley Sales Chick (sue me she was hot) at the bar, but she ended up getting me to interview cause I "knew so much about Buells"! Way to go by the way, no matter how much crap we catch because we work at HD, the job is always fun! |

Right on Darcy! Best of luck. I always wanted to work at a Harley shop. Now I'm into Buells, and they're Harley too. Last 3 months, I've been a "parts guy" at a very strong Buell dealer and I love it. Doesn't pay for crap(after working in Engineering for the last 2 decades), but the discount's great and I love the job. While Loretta's down for a cam, I am taking lunchtime test-rides. A fat paycheck ain't everything. Wife says I'm easier to live with now too... Z |

Nate, Are you the guy I talked to after I got XB12 at the auction (the blue '06 Ss)? I know I talked to somebody up there about the suspension settings and some of the other basic Buell ownership items, but I cannot remember the name. |

That is funny - I used to get offered jobs at my dealer from time to time as well. I should have taken as now there aren't any Buell guys left for the most part. |

A great service writer is an amazing person. The job is so demanding and all the little details you have to remember, the people you have to deal with and essentially, you are managing the techs. My dealer has a great service writer and that makes a huge difference to the customer. You can have a lot of fun in this job... so congratulation and enjoy! |

Congratulations! I think this is a smart move because now you're going to be on the inside with access to all the latest info (although I'm finding that this list seems to be a good source). I thought about sales because I have an '07 sportster and the 1125. Even if only part-time because of the access to information and deals. |

Doubled- I was stuck doing all the title work for those snow machines and ATVs. You likely talked to Shane or Daryl. I hope whoever it was, they were helpful, I usually try to butt in on buell deliveries just to be sure nothing gets missed, but I don't always get to. |
