I have Saturday the 20th to myself. The wife is taking the girls to build a bear work shop for my step daughters B-day and the step daughter said boys or men on trip. So if anyone is up for an all day ride let me know where to meet you. |

I might be down for a ride. Will have to wait and see if I have my new bike by then and how the weather holds out. |

Why not ride down to Rahway, NJ to Liberty's gig? The Taconic Parkway is a beautiful ride, and you could meet a lot of Badwebbers who'll be there, get some free food, demo an '09, etc. It would make for a day that's far from dull. |

The ride to Liberty sounds great but i already ride an '09. Not interested in any other buell but the firebolt. well, a ride on the 1125r does sound real sweet. The free food would be worth the trip alone. we will see who all is up for it. And what we will decide to do. |

hey Paw. Tenatively I am riding down to liberty to go maybe ride a demo, but also to get my 25 years of buell book signed. I am going to be taking mostly non Slab from Up here to NJ (Normally something like 9w down to Bear Mountain. Across Rt 6, then down 17. Normally then take the GSP almost to Rahway. I think last year Mark, his buddy and I stopped in Kingston for some food. Tis a decent ride (I seriously hate the thruway on a bike). I *might* have to stop in white plains on the way back home ,which isn't really on the way, and does involve a bridge toll (I figured on backtracking across the TZ, as opposed to going across the GWB). If I have to do that probably going to come back up the taconic parkway or the like. -Patrick |

Pat is right - it's not abad ride at all - I prefer the Tackhonic only because there's no b.s. little towns you have to work through like on 9W, but both sides are pretty nice. I'm still not sure what my plans will be, but I'll keep an eye on this thread and let you all know. |

Only thing with the Taconic is that it be on the other side of the river from NJ So have to cross The hudson up here and then cross back again either at bear Mountain or kingston. But either way as long as it isn't the thruway I happy |

Paw: I pretty easy/open. Not sure on Time yet. But it looks like food and the like starts around noon. It is around 200 miles down, depending up the weaving/meandering through said little towns it normally takes 4-5 hours to get there. So I was figuring on leaving around 7:30 or so, maybe a bit earlier. Can meet most anywhere. If you are coming say down Rt 50, we could perhaps meet by The wallymart over by dutch meadows. Or we could meet by house, or over by mohawk commons (Barnes/noble/target). Or if we are going to meet Mark, could meet by the Target where Route 7 meets Route 87. Just some random ideas. -Patrick |

Watch out for the fuzz on the Taconic, they love hiding half a mile in the woods to clock you. Oh yea, deer at night isn't fun either, but if you are Drummered you should be fine |

I went to college in westchester. I drove/road the the taconic every weekend for 4 years to come home. 1 speeding ticket for the entire run. Then again I slow now in my old age so no worries but thanks for the heads up. My biggest worry on the taconic is normally there by Jefferson Valley, where it goes from 3 to 2 lanes, and then, you got the rock walls on the right and guard rail on the left, and you get the idjits that where doing 80, and all of a sudden panic and want to drive in the middle of the damn road |

I love those people, I intentionally in my cage drive it as close to the dotted line possible without going over to see what they do, half the time they jam on the brake! |

So Barring a last minute act of $diety, looks like it be you and me, Paw. I figure it going to take us approx 4 hours to get down there, assuming we take secondary roads. If you want to come down the Northway I could meet you at the mobil station right off of Exit 6 (RT 7W)? When you come up the exit it is basically right in front of you on the other side of RT 7, a bit to the right. Can meet there around 7? Which would get us down to Rahway (assuming stopping for gas/food) probably 11/11:30? My cell is still the same, let me know if you need it again. -Patrick |

Hmm, looks like I will be up in Albany Friday night, heading home at like midnight, going to Liberty Saturday, then back up to Albany after that! Unfortunately in the cage up there, I need to get people to hop on the Lightning, perhaps no more YouTube videos |
