CC, since no one else, including Buell guru Odinbueller had heard anything about it, I was asking Court if he could confirm said date with his connections @ Buell. Call me crazy, but when one dealer knows something that no others know anything about, I'm a bit skeptical. |

Here's why I asked. My bike is at the dealer now for the first service. It's supposed to be ready for pick up today. I'm goin out of town tonight for a few days and if the update will be ready tomorrow, I'll tell them to keep it. If not, I wanna pick it up and ride some today. Just wanted a verifiable info to base my decision on. |

It’s normal that it will surge more when your mileage is getting up. My experience is with Buell on the dyno that if I make a fuel map at that moment, the bike runs great.. Only after 4000 miles or more depending on the type of exhaust (if the filling of the exhaust is out etc etc) the bike wants more fuel. What I never understand is that the stock fuel map in your Buell is not calculated for the amount of mileage after your bike is running in?. Huh? What do you think is changing so much with mileage that you need a fuel map that inputs the run-time on the engine? In 100 years of building bike and car engines, they always came with fixed jets in carburetors. Never once have I heard that jetting requirements change during break-in. } |

Dave, dealer is Lancaster I'll be picking up my bike Monday after work. I'll post results. I started this thread 'cause I thought it was good info. I'm just repeating what my dealer told me. (Message edited by Two_Buells on September 14, 2008) |

I accept everyone who busted my balls lookin for conformation on this apology. It's not that I don't trust what dealers say, I just don't trust what dealers say. |

There comes a time in every information cycle where you just have to trust the info that is given. As long as it is not going to cause and harm, just go with it. Ok, so the info was not correct. I still don't see the sky falling and so far the river has not overflowed it's banks (at least here in middle TN). If you want I can pat you on the back but, I imagine it's already been done by someone close to you. Like the rest of us we are still waiting and I'll accept the next bit of information as valid until it's proven right/ wrong. Time4Me2Chill |

No harm done, last post was supposed to be a little sarcastic. I just wanted to know if I should have left the bike at the dealer while it was there, then was chastised for wanting conformation. I like my bike the way it is, if the update will make it even better, great. If not, I'll ride on happy and often. |

There were 3-4 of us in the same situation (I picked mine up Saturday) and was not thinking, should I leave it or not since I didn't even know the new flash was supposed to come out on Monday. If I had known, I would have probably taken mine home anyway since mine still runs GREAT! I will take the flash when it comes out since I'm never one to turn down something better, especially for FREE! Well almost, it's an 80 mile round trip for me to the dealer :+} Time2GetBack2Work. |

I just had the new ECM calibration installed. Came out today. Now, understand I thought the bike ran good to start with but these are my first impressions. Cold start was perfect. Bike did not shut down the first couple of starts like before. Also much smoother cold idle. It would fluctuate rpms quite a bit before. Low rpms are much smoother. I purposely rode in the 3-4000 range and it is much more civil. Of course it lives much better above 4000, but now it is ridable in the lower rpms. I only rode home because the love bugs are unbearable. I will take it for a longer ride once they subside. Another note that may be coincidental. The bike did not get over 200 degrees, even in traffic. Maybe the mixture is richer or what, but that I noticed on a 90 degree day. I will no more as the days progress. |

The 1125R ECM update was distributed to all US dealers today. It will go to all dealers worldwide on Friday. If an 1125R is connected to Digital Technician the proper, most current, flash will be downloaded. See your Buell Dealer for details and please be patient as information moves through buffers into the public domain . . . i.e. don't go to your dealer and make them feel like a fool cause you knew first. Kudos to many engineers who have been working on this. Court |

Court is correct. I was at the right place at the right time. Not all dealers are up to date yet. In another week everyone should have the new update. Don't make your dealer crazy because he did not get the update yet. Excuse my exuberance. |

I must say...after over 20 years of non Buell motorcycling, I cannot remember such acts by the manufacture after point of purchase. Saying something by any company or individual is one thing but doing is where the silently strong speak loudest. I have slowly come around to the understanding of why so many loyal Buell owners feel and express the way they do. Also why this website is run in the manner in which it is. Way to go BMC and thank you Court for your efforts in finding out the skinny. This is how lifelong and loyal customers are won in business...by the way you do business. Not enough good can be said for these efforts of resolve. mm |

The updates are live in the US, not something a dealer has to wait for, although many are not yet aware. As soon as a US dealer has his/her Digital Tech machine online (and many are permanently on-line), the download is automatic as of earlier today, and it is then available to whatever 1125R is hooked up to the machine. Mixture is not richer, it's now correctly done at exactly the right time and the spark map is now right, which was the biggest issue. The bikes will not only run better, they will be cooler and the fuel mileage will be significantly better. I can't say any more and I shouldn't be here. It is a very good update. Just do it! |

>>>It is a very good update. Just do it! That's an accurate statement and although strictly anecdotal the first two owners who have received the upgrade are exhibiting increased test scores. Who the hell would have guessed? |

Who the hell would have guessed? You didn't hear? Buell is a lousy company that doesn't give a rat's a-- about customers. |
