the urge is difficult to supress, however . . . . . if only I had clocks last week (that were NOT affixed to a State Motor op's ride), I'd woulda been a contenda, er an almost-member of the 130 club . . .. . I must be livin right though . . .. . when he saw my Team Elves patch (and, perhaps the gray hair when I removed my helmet), he told me to keep it down (no other traffic within sight, very clear strech of highway, and ya gotta figure someone that volunteers to ride all day is at least something of a kindred spirit!) And that, I believe, is my good luck for the month! |

Now if that were me, I'd have to start looking for a tin cup to bang on the bars... |

BBQ IS TOMORROW!!!!! Bon Jovi will NOT be performing at the BBQ this year, but we are still negotiating with Motley Crue and Ratt. (Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that I like "Hair Bands"?) |

No Bon Jovi!!?? I may have to reconsider! Don / Kate, Do you need me to bring a cooler or will you have room for beer? Yes, it's early but we're back to the beer. Oh yeah, I'll take the cold and the free beer (although I'm not sure of the consequences of the free beer). |

griz . . .while I admit to relying on the kindness of strangers more often than is prudent, that was my biggest dodge thus far . . . .I went home and hid under a cardboard box for a couple of hours . . . .. mayhap I should get me 20 or 30 more patches, and just cover myself in em, yes? |

Check out the cover band hairbangersball.com sometime. I've seen 'em a few times. Closest thing you can get to re-living those glory days. |

All depends on the weather. Cold is fine, rain sux. If I wake up & its either raining or there is that big huge green rain blob on the radar I will pass on any ride. |

Hey Dyna, Nice to see you and the Mrs. one last time on the way home. Wonder how long you were tailing me. I94 from 19 all the way down the the Milwaukee turn off was stop and go. Had to really discipline myself not to lane split. I understand it is not legal here. Duh... Incidentally, the "Hooter Heater" is made by Chase Harper and is available from Chaparral and other outlets. I think they call it a breeze buster or something to that effect. Does it work? Mine is over 10 years old and my response is an absolute YES!!! Also can be reversed to stop the chill going down your back and still protect the neck area. Hope to see you soon!!! Bill |

Fuck fuck fuck. Went on the slimy crud run today & everything was fine, hanging out with Roger & dave & dennis, mikej, etc. On the way home coming down the 894 where it merges back with I-94 the wind was very strong. A gust pushed me over a bit as we were on the on ramp & the bike went over some tar strip shit. Front end slid out & then the bike went into a massive tank slapper. I tried to hold on & did for maybe 100' then she spit both me & the wife off. We are doing semi ok. Had full gear on, boots, gloves , helmets & chaps. face shields on helmets are fucked, my gloves are trashed. I ended up with a very tiny bit of road rash on my left wrist where my glove rode up a lil bit & my left bigtonail is toast. had my alpinestar touring boots on too. Wife is a little sore but no visible marks anywhere. Not bad for dumping a bike at 50 mph. Had bike towed to Hals, I gotta call them in the morning & let them know whats up. Its fucked up but not too bad. Tank has a nice dent in it, carb was ripped right off, pipes are crushed, brake lever assembly is history & the windshield is a goner. probably looking at $3000 minimum. I already called my insurance company & am getting the ball rolling. Thank god for full coverage. Im gonna take a nap, I fuckin hurt all over right now. Its only been 3 hrs since it happened. Ouch. BTW guys, I am so fuckin glad I made the wife wear her helmet today. She didnt want to, but now she is singing a different tune. -------------------- |

Ouch, not good. Can you sue the state for those tar strips? I'm always slipping on those things, major hazard, extreamly major hazard. Only good thing is that the two of you were able to walk away. Was that the corner from the south where I-43 blends into I-94, or the high corner where I-94 turns south? Either is bad. Lots of trucks on the more southern one, and lots of people cranking it trying to get to the airport and not watching ahead as they are getting ready to push across three lanes of traffic to the right as they sweep and enter the southbound freeway on the left. That whole interchange needs rethinking. Could have been worse, glad it wasn't. |
