FMJ, Ain't it the truth, I was not going to be able to go in October, but I feel almost cheated. All the prep time just to be told better luck next year. Very depressing. The bright side is that there is a next year, and I for one am looking for more ways to make more power, aerodynamics, etc. Looking forward to next year, because this one sure SUCKED!!!!!! Ray |

Yep, to you all. Other than making some phone calls I have done nothing with the S2, no money spent. But in my mind, thousands of changes. |

FMJ, Hang in there buddy. I had lots of "contemplation" time on the ride home, and must have lost my mind somewhere in South Dakota, because now I have some silly ideas involving the Blast. So if not this year, next year, It was a great party but let's do it on the salt next time. David |

>>>>It was a great party but let's do it on the salt next time. You are WAY BEHIND . . . I have started on the GRAND VISION for next year. I am not taking denial lightly. I already have the shirts started and will be discussing the "metrics" with the Team soon. I think it's time we raised the Bonne-bar. |

Court, Our Team is setting up to run all the events at Bonneville next year. It is a 1400 mile drive but the resources and people seem to be available. By planning on running all events you bring in a lot more people who are frozen out of a specific event due to previous commitments. The organizational problems all seem doable. I am probably going to run the Buell in whatever TeamElves considers their focus event, so keep all of us updated. See you on the Salt Paul |

Paul: Too cool. As "de facto" associates and closet supporters (Don Corleone: "and to the extent that your interests don't conflict with mine......) I look forward to lending whatever support we can provide to help you. By the way....I have "Sleeper Elves" in Salt Lake City. Court |

FMJ, Howdy. If you're Jonesin' to run your beast, Ebear mentioned SCTA El Mirage Dry Lake events in October. You can run for time. And... it never rains in Southern California! Hahaha. Sparky Oops! ridin' thru drizzle into work today |

Court, It appears to me that TeamElves is in this LSR thing for the forseeable future. Perhaps we should be staging resources in the SLC area, your sleeper elves?? There is a lot of "stuff" that is needed for Bonneville that is difficult to transport and not much use for anywhere else. And not of much intrinsic value, I guess. Paul |

OK, now I'm REALLY pissed... They just had a section of American Thunder dedicated to the bikes racing at Speed Week 2002. The SuperModel and I nearly cried watching it. I too have been watching the weather in Wendover @: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Saltlake/mtr/D_KENV.html and http://www.wunderground.com Every half hour I look to see if its raining in UT. I'm gonna get fired over this soon, the firewall log is gonna be all me surfing weather sites !! HA. There is a El Mirage event in Nov. as well, but I dont know if we'll make that. I want to run on the Salt. I've got hte same problem FMJ, with the extra time, I could build more LSR bikes, but would have to go out to the Salt two of three times next year just to get al the runs in... like that would be a bad thing. I'm gonna call the SCTA on Wed. and see what they have to say about it all. Their website says the meet is still on, but with the recent rain, we may be washed out again. |

Why don't you guys make it down to Maxton, NC for the Oct 26-27th meet. The concrete dyno is a real world indicator of exactlely where you are at. And it's a lot of fun,.... we'd be glad to assist anyone. Jim S XL-List LSR http://www.ecta-lsr.com/index.htm |

Sparky, the oct 6 is too soon to get the time off work and get organized, but Nov. dates look doable.Wanna go race?See how fast a Firebolt will go?If I head that way,it would be nice to have rooting section/help there. Maxton is just a LITTLE far away,so I don't think so.But thanks for the invite. |

Jim, Team Exceleration will be at Maxton on the 26th. We are bringing one of the Xr-750's and the Buell in P-PP configuration. If it goes as fast as we hope, what are other 1350 records you would want us to shoot for, take away from Guzzi. The boys plan on running it hard as we have until August to work it over again. Haven't got our rule books yet. Anything odd we need to do to run down there, can we show up and just do everything when we get there. Happy to run under sportster.org if thats what it takes. Paul |

Plans are to take all the Guzzi records in Oct and we could use your help, I'm not sure if we'll have a 1000cc bike or not to take this record from them. Cooked Goose APS/PG 1000cc 137.615 mph. We'll have all the 1350cc and up Guzzi records covered. There has been a sudden shift in our bike program and we'll be doing some reconstructive surgery before Oct Maxton to ensure our standing in the ECTA points race. Oct Maxton should be very interesting. Jim S |

Are yo sure that's the current APS/PG record? I though Aaron shattered that one with his RR1000, along wihg APS/PF, MPS/PG and MPS/PF. Here's from the website: 1000CC APS-PG Team Elves Buell 9/00 161.050 Vik |

Jim, We are pretty sure our xr-750 can go 145. Can't we run it at the 1000cc records at Maxton if we want?? We are planning on running at 1350cc P-PP but we don't really want to step on your effort to capture the points lead. Let me know if our running will cause you problems!!! Take care. Paul |

At Maxton you can run up in classes, ie 750cc in all 750 and up classes, modified's in altered, nakkid in streamline, normal induction in a blown class,... as long as it's considered a faster class than the class your bike falls in as it sits. We are trying to change it so all bikes fit in their proper displacement and mofification level for 03, Doubtful as the ECTA makes money on class changes. The points race would not be felt by any runs or times you set on your bike(s). There is a hyabusa that is is currently 2nd place in the points. It's between us and them for the ECTA #1 plate. It's going to be close as we made a critical mistake by not setting a sandbag up at Maxton and letting theirs stand. (It's very involved this points race thing, very little to do with real racing) We might ask you to help to set up a sandbag to start off the 03 season. This will reqire multiple pushrod bikes and will benefit all the pushrod motor bike entries. |

Jim, My understanding of next years plans are that we will be running all the bikes at Maxton at least once before Bonneville in August. I'm guessing that we will probably be there three or four times next year. Not really sure what sandbag is but anything to help!! Paul |

Damn Guys, We're with You over here in Holland! Hope You guys are more fortunate this month... Just spent all afternoon TLC-ing the bike. We're used to rain, though. That's why we haven't got salt. Not until December/January, that is... Hell; next year I hope I WILL be joining You for Bonneville! It's a hell of a drive from here, though... All the best, Jilles. |
