Depending on what his reserve is, it could just be a feeler listing. His buy it now price is not realistic |

Well like others I am sure he is adding up all the stuff "he has into it" which you are correct is unrealistic to expect that out of the bike. I know If I was in a similar situation and if I still had the stock parts I would put everything stock back on and sell the upgrades individually. |

It is a supertrapp I believe. He had someone make the 2 into 1 headpipe for him. |

I thought that bike was possessed by evil spirits? If it is possessed he should put it in the add. He might get the price he is looking for. Who wants a good bike? Evil all the way |

jeez only 4800 miles?? i dont really like the look of it without the lower belt guards and that exhaust is too small IMO remind me not to get the kick ash air box... atleast not until they come out with a cooler looking air filter(K&N you better be listening!!!) i would grow tired of looking at that white stock filter FAST asking 11k for that bike kind of makes me wonder how many of us 1125 owners owe more on their bikes than what you could buy a 2008 for today.... i know that i could buy one for about 3k less than what i owe on mine that has 5500 miles at the moment!! looks like i better shut up and just enjoy my bike for a couple years.. 'cause im sure as hell not getting out from underneath my bike any time soon!! |

Maybe he is getting push form elswhere in the household to sell it, and this is his way of saying. "Honey I tried to sell it but no one wants to buy it! I even listed it on Ebay!" Wink wink nudge nudge. |

I wish him luck with that but I agree that he is high. My view on selling a bike is that I just don't count the mods, you can't really because the mods deprecaite like everything else and a buyer might not like all that stuff anyway. |

Yeah, like rims on a car or truck...they turn into a selling point, but the purchase price doesn't go up really. |

Blue book and Black book don't give you any credit for "whatcha got in it". If they did there would be no standard to go by, any vehicle could be worth anything. |

Everything is worth exactly what you can get someone else to pay for it. Damn free market really complicates things don't it? It's a PITA selling everything separately, but it's definitely the way to go for max $. |

I've spoken with Mike in the last week. He's had wheel bearing failure on all THREE of his Buells' in the last few months. Someone told me his bikes' saw somewhat extreme service duty in ALL WEATHER conditions. I think he got caught in an extraordinary circumstances.Valid defects, but in the wrong place at the wrong time.A pile of defective junk Buells'.It can happen. |

Pure and simple fact most people don't seem to grasp: The less "stock" the bike is, the less the resale value. If you want the best price, keep it as close to stock as possible. Take the aftermarket bits off and sell them separately. I don't know about you, but when I see a bike with an aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket air cleaner, aftermarket ignition, etc. all that tells me is that the current owner beat the SNOT out of the bike. You don't put that stuff on to toodle around town. |

Mods, mods, always with the mods. What does different headlamps,a voltmeter,or an exhaust pipe have to do with the failures.Explain the failed rear wheel bearing and how his "Mods" caused it? You should all count yourselves lucky you've not enjoyed Mike's disappointments. His is an example of the "pile" that can escape quality controls at BMC. |

It's called perception and the general perception (at least mine) is that mods do as much bad as good for a bike and at the very least imply that it was run hard. I would never buy a modded bike unless I know (and trust) the owner personally. |

Depends on the mods. If I look at that pipe on that bike, I ****have**** to wonder what other incoherent ^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h^h creative decisions the owner made in other things they have done too and with the bike (that may not be as obvious). On the other hand, I would not hesitate for a moment if it was a rejetted tuber with a supertrapp... it was a very reasonable mod with great paybacks. And the myriad of electrical problems may or may not have been related to a rats nest of wiring, unwiring, twisting and turning, routing and rerouting. There were so many things messed with (modded is a bike of a generous term) on that bike it would be very difficult to sort out and impossible to ascribe blame. I would love to have helped Mike but from one day to the next the bike changed. It was like trying to hold balloons underwater in a bathtub. |

It was like trying to hold balloons underwater in a bathtub. I always just filled up condoms with water to see how big they'd get. Much easier, and more rewarding. |

Very few know the real/whole story concerning Mike and his situation. That being the case, would any one of the members here really appreciate some of this threads content, if the shoe were on the other foot? Just a thought. Best of luck, Baggermike! Hope all works out well for you. mm |

Not that he owes it to any of us, but he could have mentioned that he was selling his 25r...who knows maybe someone here would buy it? IMO, we develop friendships here, albeit across the vast internet....nice to know where people goto... |
