Hey....I've a vice for things like Harvard Business Review, Invention and Technology and some that would floor you.

Of all the vices I (currently) possess this one is the least expensive.

In the words of my over-educated son...."the mind is like an overturned magician's hat.....you can pull nothing out of it that has not previsouly been put in"

Anony,
How many independent KTM magazines are there? Any independent Aprilia magazines?

Reg can keep my freshly re-upped two years worth of subscription also. Thanks for all your effort Mr. Kitrelle. Hope to meet you someday.

Does KTM or Aprilia survive on a single chassis? Oh, I guess I forgot about the blast...

Thank You Mr. ( & Mrs.) Reg! I enjoyed it.

Reg and Lora,

Thanks for the Mag and your time on the phone. You helped me out with my X1 temp sensor problem ,to sort me from the many others you've helped .

If every magazine had a staff anywhere near as knowledgable and friendly, I'd read as much as Court!

Keep any remaining money, hell I'd renew even if you went to an yearly format or any other format.

Thanks again
Matt

I agree with what seems to be the sentiment. I'm not asking for a refund. I recently ordered back issues from Laura. She was so pleasant & considerate.

Court, 74? That leaves little time for all those other vices. I only subscribed to to Battle2Win. Maybe that's why I have too many vices & that they are more costly as a result of the trouble I get into!

.............That leaves little time for all those other vices.

Try having handguns, airplanes and motorcycles for hobbies....then throw in some avocational writing on customer relationship management, collaborative excellance and team building, a couple children's books (yes, damnit, I admit to it) and then stir in a bit of ham radio and home improvement (refinishing 80 year old front doors on house now and I HATE Bob Villa and Norm)

Next time, I will select a life that is less given to being documented........

By the way.....Reg and Laura are both wonderful people. If there is one common character trait that bonds the world of Buell it might be the commmon affinty we all share in our preferance to meet and assocaite with folks who'd prefer to toss the dice and loose than to not toss.

This is not window shopping, you don't get to walk through life one time, form preferances then pass back through and actually do.

As I sat in Colorado and listened to Peter explain how he got from Australia to the Netherlands, how he's traveled so many countries just tossing a "swag" behind the trees near the road at night....Ross's 40 hour epic journey to be there, Woz and Jack traipsing over the mountains in trucks toward Bonneville like settlers in wagons and Capt'n Pete's car-vetnure, I am reminded that I LOVE a life filled with those who take risks.

Clue ya in here gang....Reg is a very smart and saavy guy who thumbed his nose at the bueracratic corporate world (where he was quite successeful) to pursue a path that spoke to his passions. I've known him and the folks who work with him and know how he inspires a team.

His gamble, win or loose, was OUR gamble and I'm going to treasure the copies of B2W that I have as a valuable resource.

Hell....I'm tempted to extend my subscription just to see what he does.....can you imagine a better $15 bet?

I got my very first issue at the 1996 Pocono BRAG ride where 112 Buells showed up for the ride........(this was before M2's and S3's.......
I had Erik sign the cover.........

Don't count Reg out....he's got something cooking in the backround.

And...was the surprise of Luaghlin-Constable's life! They organized the event and were predicting a "handful". That's when Erik and I were both quite active on the CompuServe Motorcycle Forum and I wanted to make an example to Mike Hilman.

You'll recall the parking lot that morning, during the coffee and donuts, was PACKED beyond capacity.

Scott Miller assigned me to watch Bayliss (recall the madman of the South?) His wife followed our trip and video taped the entire thing from a red Ford Lightning pickup.

The ride was awesome....remember going through Jim Thorpe, PA looking like a freight train of bikes?

I still have the Backroads issue that said "we're not sure who the guy from Kansas on the Green S-3 was, but the display with the 916 showed that the Buells will be a force to be reckoned with" That was when John Schreck (Ducati 916) and I did the entirely squid-like sweeper at triple digits with my deep bag lids resting on his bodywork and our turn signals touching.

I've turned into a total riding wimp!

My bet is that Reg has something AWESOME cooking!

Court (keen minds will recall this as the weekend of the little Silver S-1 wheelie problem :))

As the "Historian" for DCBRAG, I currently have, in a "secure undisclosed location", a copy of every single battle2win published

Unfortunately, Vol 1 issue 1 and Vol 1 issue 3 are "photocopies" of the original issues.

Boy I wonder who would have some of these lying around somewhere........

I've got Vol 1 #1, but it ain't for sale. My copy of Vol 1 #3 is also a "photocopy". It was a great magazine, and I'm really sorry to see it die. I realize that life is change, but I don't always like the changes. I wish Reg the best of luck in whatever the future brings. I also want to thank Reg for all the enjoyment I got from reading Battle2win.

any chance of burning those onto a CD, and selling them to those that don't have them?

Perhaps donating some of the proceeds to Reg, or to BadWeb?

I have an entire case, thus presenting you with one of the few chances you will ever have to suck up and say something nice to me :)

>>>>any chance of burning those onto a CD?

Work is already afoot by the TEAM ELVES archive division to produce a CD with all copies of Battle2Win in .pdf format.

You will also be able to view them on the DCBRAG website contingent upon Jose' satisfactorily kissing up. :)

What????

I'm sure we, i.e. Steve (turnagain) have the space (right Steve?) to put them up, but don't we need permision from Reg's publishing company first?

As to the kissing up........

Court,

Well, if you look the word optimist in the dictionary, you would find a picture of you on your Barney S1 Lightning!

I am amazed at your level of faith, enthusiasm and optimism in the idea of Buell, the man and the company. You have been there from near the beginning and have fascinating insights into the path that the company has taken to date and what they intend to do in the future.

Court has always been here, there and anywhere to offer his technical advise or act as a conduit to the people that can help a person with a problem if Court can not help himself. This is a valuable asset that Badweb and Buell are priviledged to have.

We disagree on a lot of things, mainly on the marketing/product positioning end of things, and I try to keep it civilized, but these bikes evoke strong emotions and sometimes I say things here that I would not tell to people to their face and I apologize for that.

I'll cop out and blame it on my Latin blood......

Anyway I have always admired how upbeat and optimistic you are in your postings here over the years, even when things look bleak, like this year with the cancellation of Boneville, you guys made some great lemonade out of it!

We'll continue to disagree for sure on many things (and with Blake on anything, and Aaron on that "Reversion" word). But this Buell/Badweb thing is like an addiction, it's hard to just walk away from the bike and this little "world".

______________________________________________________________

I began my Buell ownership experience with a similar level of optimism, even after lurking on this board for all of 1999 and knowing what I was potentially getting myself into.

We started one of the first BRAG clubs with the help of HD/Buell of Ft. Washington and it is one of the largest and most "visible" clubs, especially on the net thanks to dcbrag.org and the wonderful work that Steve has done.

We get together go ride and have fun, which is what the whole thing is all about!

Unfortunately, the unreliability of my particular bike has taken all the fun out of it. Unfortunately, this experience has become too common among our members. Meetings recently have degenerated into "my bike broke this or that" and it's not fun or fair for me or anybody else to participate in something that I no longer enjoy.

So this Saturday, Oct. 5th, we will elect new directors for DCBRAG.

I won't totally go away, I just don't want to run things and keep the membership database current or come up with rides, that's a pain.

Steve is probably pretty busy taking pictures and keepting the website up to date, so I'm sure he won't voluteer to take over.

I'll be around to help, but I need everybody else to "spread the load". I want to ride in the back of the group for a while and not worry about breaking down....

Ok...damnit......you can have the issues. But, I could see your fingers crossed behind your back as you whispered "Lunatic".

One things for certian, the DCBRAG website has served as the model and you and Steve deserve praise.

E-mail me the mailing address, let me know which issued you need and I'll dig through the archives this week.

um,... José, there gonna be enough folks to have a quorum -- maybe if the XB9S is there. Kidding!

Space may be a problem, especially with monster pdf's. Wanna buy a disk and maybe we could put them on Kyle's system? Though, I'm beginning to think Court is havin' way too much fun up there and just playing with you.

Court, Thanks!

adios, Steve(2)

Steve gets all the credit for its design layout, I just take some pictures that he decides to put up there.

Credit also to our founding director, Bob Stoll, for getting the name registered and the web page started.

If we don't have the space that's ok, but those issues are so full of useful information that they should be archive somewhere on the web.

If I could only post one Battle2win article on DCBRAG, it would be the imfamous "Exhaustive Measures" article from Vol 1, issue 2.

If reg would really allow it, BadWeB will provide the disk space and the PDF conversion. BadWeB has friends with one of those neato HP PDF writers. Too cool. I think BadWeB has the first three issues in b&w copy only.

Cough 'em up Court, or the CourtinCO-XYZ pic gets put on the internet. Serves you right for humbling JQ like that. mwahahah

I have Jose's (or is that Jose''s) address and am going to scour the museum this weekend. I know there is a case of the first issue of Battle2Win somewhere.

I'll send one to you too Blake.

I'm not sure about the copyright issues and I have a tough time seeing Reg as not enthusiastically supporting wide dissemination, but I'd suggest any intending to do this contact Reg as a courtesy, share the idea and secure his permission.

José, excellent job kissing up. I once had my Detachment Commander in the Air Force, tell me that I wasn't very good at it. I don't think I've improved. Except maybe when it comes to females.

I agree, the Exhaustive Measures article was quite interesting. And, your infamous debates with Aaron were equally so.

Easy dude.....make a big deal of it and he'll slap right back at me!

The Exhaustive Measures was a high water mark. It always reminds me of that Saturday Valine wandered into Buell, an out of work teacher, with only Buell and Briggs & Stratton on the potentials list.

We get lucky or what?....a "simple twist of fate" (thanks Bob Dylan) and we'd all be riding VERY FAST lawn-mowers!
