Jim, You're spoiling the surprise... I saw that flyscreen on a bike at Hamburg Harley Days while I was in Germany in June.
Although I think I first saw it on ebay.de too - mere days before I saw it on the bike at Hamburg Harley Days, 1313 |

I hope all of you north east of Wilmington did ok. Hell, I slept through most of whatever there was. I awoke up to the power going off and coming back on, and going off and coming back on at 8:30. Within an hour the power was back on for good and the street was drying off but still a little windy. I was hoping for a little bit more excitement. I had 2 12 packs of Icehouse (but we all know they won't go to waste), 2 2 liters of Pepsi to mix with Jack Daniels, and probably up towards 3 liters of various Absinthe's - but when I woke up it was pretty much all over. I really love the calm and moderate weather after a hurricane rolls through. With that said, I sure don't want something like Ike (at times a category 4) coming through here. There's just too much precious Buell memorabilia contained within my house for that... Hope all is well with everyone, 1313 |

Hey I edited the Message. A little Dain Bramage here. Nothing new. Got 1 year older today and Senility has already set in. The IMS show gave a new choice this year. Larry |

Probably the same distance for the folks in Raleigh, but it's 60+ miles further from Grifton. Of course since I am on the east side I have the furthest to travel. It would probably be great to go that way since we could meet up with the SC and 3% crews as well as more of the western C3'ers. |

I bet you can connect the dots. This:
To this:
Only lost about half a quart and it took me about 30 miles to discover it. The passenger falling off the pegs was a good hint. (Message edited by jlnance on September 09, 2008) |

That sucks Jim. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. The only inconvenience was having to walk to a filling station to buy oil and rags. If I had known how little had splashed out, I would have just ridden it home. I was down at the Holly Springs town hall when I discovered the problem, so it wasn't far. |

It's been kind a quiet around here. I have been working and have not had a lot of time to check out the sites. I think we have gotten to the point we call or text each other anymore, that's good. Jim that looks like one of my maneuvers. I can't tell you the number of times I have ridden down the road to stop and realize my tank bag is open. Hell its in front of my and I still do not see it. The wife and I may be riding to Raleigh on Sunday. Anything going on? |

Carlos,Twig & the others I met at Mabry's Mill.It was good seeing ya'll.I just got back from 18 days in the mountains.Had to put a rear tire on last Friday(put on a sticky sportbike tire)It was to the wear bars when I got home.It was amazing railing around on that sticky tire.I guess I'll go back to the Diablo's now.One week life of a tire is a little expensive for my taste. |

Donnie - it was great meeting you and your wife. Amazing we have to travel to VA to meet other C3er's! Carlos heads to that area each month during the spring and summer to "cut grass". Sounds like you had a great time in the mountains. Right after we left you at Mabry Mill, we went to Meadows of Dan. Ran into a guy on a Honda that told us our Uly was the 2nd one he'd seen in the last day. The other belonged to a guy named...Donnie! We thought that was pretty funny. |

Donnie, it was good to meet you and your wife. Maybe we will be able to meet up on this side of the mountains. I am jealous you were able to stay for 18 days up there. I do good to stay there four. Like Kristi says, I ride up there monthly. My father-in-law has a cabin up there and I ride up to cut the gas and maintain the place. I usually post something to the tune, "It's time to cut the mountain grass." If you see me post and you want to come along just post. Like the other weekend, several C3'ers through out the state meet up there usually one day of the weekend and we go for a ride in the mountains. Its been great. Again, we like to ride to the coast too, so keep in touch and jump in anytime you have the time to join us. |

Indian Valley,693,638,8,40,Black Ridge,799,Squirel Spur,Willis Gap,Orchard Gap,Pipers Gap,Shotting Creek,5 Mile Mountain Rd........etc.It is amazing the great traffic free twisty roads within 30 miles of Meadows of Dan.Also most roads are 55 mph & not many cops.I don't get up there much, but I will let you know when I head up there next. We are trying to work out the last & first of Oct/Nov weekend at Willville. With fishing so slow I might make it up sooner. |

Hi Donnie, glad you turned in so we could meet 'yall. I've seen a few Buells on the parkway on different rides. Rubberdown, have you been on vacation? Just letting you know I found a good home for the Yamaha. I've promised it to a longtime co-worker, who is also a good friend. He had no idea it was up for grabs. If anybody can get it running, he can. He still has his old thumper 500 four stroke. |

Shadyplace, They are indeed skateboard wheels. Some on BadWeB aren't too receptive to the idea of using skateboard wheels for sliders - they think that they will grip the pavement rather than slide - so I went through the extra effort to have some Aluminum pieces made so that the skateboard wheels are able to turn. I hope that I never end up finding out how effective they are. As for where I got them, it's someplace that I've been finding I do more and more of my shopping lately - Ebay. I tried looking for some at Toys R Us, and in sporting goods sections of Wal-Mart, KMart and Target, but could never find a good selection anywhere I looked. I saw some cool ones, but nothing that would match the color scheme of my XT-BOLT. Finding a selection on Ebay was great - I just punched in 'red skateboard wheel' and filtered the ones that were translucent red to find the ones that are a perfect match to the XT-BOLT's red. The wheels were rather cheap (less than $7.00 buy it now), but the bearings I went with were a little more pricey - but they came in a coffin shaped box! In case anyone is wondering, the wheels I bought are 52 mm diameter wheels. I was surprised how many different sizes of skateboard wheels are made. 1313 |

there's got to be a story there! You should have heard Mike and Trish: "Is it in yet?" "No" "Are you putting it in the bottom hole" "No I'm in the top hole" "Put it in the bottom hole" I was trying really hard not to laugh in front of Michael. |
