Hey neighbors, I'm still looking for fellow riders in the Chattanooga area, but if you are going to be riding east any time I would love to learn some new Alabama backroads. |

Great name Eaton! Welcome. I know it is a bit of a hike for you, but our normal route takes us from Paint Rock AL, up into the Winchester area of TN. Then we hit up Lynchburg on occasion. Every once in a while, we head over to Beersheba (sp?).. I think that is much closer to your neck of the woods. I bet you have some fun roads out there and Chattaboogy! I pass through there when I go to my parents place (Pigeon Forge), and some of the roads that I can see from the highway look like they would be pretty fun. I have only been around the city, and up lookout mountain. How is it, living in Chattanooga? I have been gaining a bit of interest in the area. My wife and I are originally from Atlanta... We moved here in 2002. Also, keep an eye on the 3%er's forum too. Those guys do most of their riding in the Suches, GA area, which isn't really too bad of a ride from Chattanooga. They also have a couple of large meets there too. One coming up in October (Buelltoberfest), and on in March (March Badness). The latter is a pretty large event sponsored by Stone Mountain HD/Buell with the demo fleet in attendance. A wonderful time is had by all at these events. Thanks for the input. Yea, Winchester is a long way but I just did 335mi. yesterday to Hiawasse, Helen, Dahlonega, and everywhere in between. (That's Georgia by the way.) I was just putting feelers out to other areas because I can't seem to locate other Buellers around here. |

I'm new to the forum, but not to Huntsville. I'm picking up an 09' XB12Ss tomorrow, so I'm looking to do some riding with the locals. Hit me up whenever you want to get out. Eric |

Welcome Eric! Congrats on the new purchase!! What is your bike background?? Also, what area do you live in? I am in the Harvest area. I will keep a steady post of "I am riding <this day>" on here so maybe we can meet up. You are also welcome to join up with the group I ride with. Tennessee Valley Sportbike club meets every Sunday at 10am at the Sonic on Jordan and 72. There are also folks in the group that ride on satruday as well. Spotted 2 Buells in my travels today. An orange Uly on 72 heading east this morning on the way in. I was the guy on the black CityX that got in behind you. And an XB of unknown displacement who was heading east on 565. I was the guy on the black CityX going west bound that waved at you. Anyone on here?? |

Anyone here from the Anniston area? I'm currently living in South Carolina and have a job offer in that area. I was just curious as to how many Bueller's are in the area, and any info on where one might want to settle down at. |

Hmm, Anniston. I've ridden thru there alot to bypass Birmingham enroute to GA...but don't know of anyone posting here from that area. It's a pretty cool little town...lots of history...pretty dense with shops and traffic near the interstate (of course), but north of there towards the older part of the city seems a bit nicer. There's an HD shop there that's pretty nice...can't remember if they carry Buells tho. Maybe Daves knows some about that area. He's out B-ham on the east side I think...not too far from Anniston. Not much help sorry. |

Ratyson, Thanks for the welcome. I live in HSV just off 565 and Research Park (Old Madison Pike). I've known how to ride for a long time, but never owned a Bike. I just sold a Suzuki V-Strom that I had for 4 months (too boring). I bought the XB12 before I had the V-Strom soled....lol. I wouldn't call myself a beginner, but not overly experienced either. I guess you'd call me a quick study. I'm riding with a group from my car forum this weekend to Lynnchberg, TN. We're leaving Sunday morning at about 10:30 from the Publix on 231-N in Mechanicsville. Let me know if you're interested. |

I may look into that Htekwo, I'll have to see what I have going on this weekend. Tomorrow is our 11th Wedding anniversary, and I also need front break pads (some on order)... So I have a couple of things working against me (ha.. just kidding). I'll let you know if I can head out. |

Yeah, you missed a great ride! We were going entirely too fast for non track riding, but man was it fun! We took back roads to TN and it was like a mini Dragon! Lots of switchbacks with lots of long sweepers mixed in. The XB12 was a monster on this type of riding. With a little work, I was able to keep up with the Sport Bikes in the bunch! Most of the others knew the route, but I was still able to hang with them. I was sore as hell when I got home! I'll let you know when we do it again and you let me know when your usual group is going out. Eric |

Russel, If you're not a member already, you might want to join HSVracing.com That is where most of the group I ride with hangs out and plans activities. Check out the Bike section in the forums. Eric |

Eric, I noticed that you posted on the Buelltoberfest thread. The 3%ers, and the C3 group are a fine bunch of folks. I have been to the last 3 March Badness meets (basically what started the Buelltoberfest), and have had nothing but fun. Heck, I didn't even get to ride last March due to the weather, but I still had a great time. If you go, you'll be glad you did, if you miss it.. well, you'll wish you hadn't. I am not sure if I am going to make Buelltoberfest since it is right around my mid-term week at school, but I am a pretty positive I'll be making March Badness. If you are into camping, there is plenty of camping at TWO... and you will be hugely suprised by the food they serve (you will know what I mean when you get there). I give that place 5 stars and two thumbs up. |

Russel, Thanks for the heads up. I'm changing jobs in a week or two and I'm not sure what my schedule will be. If my wife presses me, I may have to make it. She is more into camping than I am, but I'm not apposed to it. Talk to you soon. |

Russel, I rode with your group from Sonic today. I had a blast! Rode the same route from last weekend. Nice bunch of guys and really fast riders! Thanks for the heads up on them. I think they have new respect for the Buell! Put it thru it's paces with some new suspension settings. |

Ha.. good to hear! Glad you had fun! You would be the first to show them what the Buell is really capable of, since I don't try to hang with the fast guys... I am usually mid-pack. |

We took Hwy 72N over the mountain to Hwy 65W into the country side. I'd have to look on map to know were we went from there. We usually head up to Lynnchburg from there and back down Hwy 231. |

Yeah, our usual route is out to Paint Rock, up SR65. Once 65 hits 79, we usually take a right up the mountain and take a rest at Thackerson's Grocery. Then we take a left on whatever road that is through Skyline. That takes us up to Winchester, TN (iirc). Then from there we wind our way over to Lynchburg via SR50. We usually head back 110 (I think), to 231. |
