How much room does one have to lower the front and the rear end in unison without encountering a bottoming out, wheel contact problem at either end? I have a 2000 m2. I could go through a lot of physical manipulation to determine this, via pressing everything together with mechanical force until a threshold is reached- I'm trying to avoid unnecessary grinding of stops, etc. Has anyone determined an absolute physical limit plus an inch or so? I'd like to have a rear shock built in accordance with such extremes as the bike is too high for my taste. I'm prepared to rework the oil tank, etc., if this is a problem. thanks. |

How much lower do you think you need to go to make it acceptable? What is your point of reference, seat height with you sitting on it or unladen? Are you're trying to touch both feet flatfooted or the balls of one foot or both feet? Do you plan on using or modifying the stock seat or trying a different seat? Oftentimes the stock cushion can be scooped out, narrowed and fitted with a gel insert for a remarkable satisfactory change in ergonomics that makes straddling the bike confortable. If you're trying to lower a standard M2, consider swapping suspension & seat with a M2L (Low) model owner. One trick dragracers do to lower their forks is by installing spacers between the stanchion and slider, thus limiting the amount of extension in the forks. This plus progressive springs could probably reduce the ride height in the front without significantly compromising handling ability. |

On a S2 the first thing is the rear drive belt runs into the battery support bracket.. |

And also the rear upper belt guard if installed |

As low as possible. I have an extra vertebra owing to some throw back on my mother's side. My legs are relatively short even though at 6'+ I am ideally suited for the existing frame I get tired of straddling the thing particularly with the rack and bag on the tail section. Even a couple of inches lower would make this feat far less compromising. |

Thank you, Sparky. it has only been until recently that I have begun to appreciate your wisdom, no shit. |
