Is it true that you have to have the 1125 remapped if you shut it off while the engine is still cold?

Today my neighbor helped me with my first service and installing the solenoid resister. He's a long time motorcycle mechanic that works on all jap bikes, ducatis, and the dealer he works for also sells KTMs. He's good.

I forgot to tell him about not shutting off until the engine is warm. The bike was almost warm and he shut it off. After I realized what had happened I took it for a short ride and it seemed fine.

Actually, with the solenoid replaced it ran much smoother. So how can I tell if a remap is required?

Thanks,
Doug

Someone fed you a big line with that one Doug. All is fine as you already know from the test ride. Relax.

Thanks for the replies. It was the sales staff at the HD dealer that told me this. When 3 different sales guys told me about letting the bike warm up to operating temp before shutting off I figured I'd better listen to them.

if you start and shutdown more than 3 times without the bike reaching operating temperature it goes into spark plug cleaning mode.
