That is correct. This was announced to the public a couple months ago and, as best I can tell from reading here, most the bikes have already been taken care of. There were very few bikes impacted and this occurred under "race conditions" . . i.e. Shawn Higbee race conditions. If you haven't had your bike updated it'd be a good time to scadaddle in and get'er taken care of. |

It is also a relatively minor job, so you don't have to worry about your bike being on a lift for weeks and weeks. Bring your VIN with you to your dealer. Have them run the VIN. If it needs the recall, have them order the kit and call you once the kit arrives - there is NO NEED to leave your bike at the dealer during the order process. We've done this particular recall while customers waited. It takes about an hour to take your time and do it slowly; about 2 hours if it's the first one that particular shop has done (it is very straightforward, relax...). Or...if you have a service coming up, schedule it for the same appointment. It's a very painless recall to do. |

My dealer still can't get a new kit sent to them so that they can do the work on my bike...going on 2 months! |

'Busa...GIVE THEM YOUR VIN. Explain to them that they need to order it specifically FOR YOUR VIN. It's all on the paperwork they have... If they've tried that route already (methinks a ball is being dropped somewhere along the line), call Buell CS with all the information (your name, VIN, dealer name, person(s) you've spoken with about it, etc). As far as I know, the kits are NOT backordered or anything like that, but things may have changed since I was last at work... |

I called my dealer the day after I got my official Buell-o-gram in the mail and have bumped them twice and am still awaiting their call back to schedule something. They say they don't have the parts and that they have ordered them. Granted I have NOT been adamant or persistent about getting the work done...in anticipation of potentially other work ('09 remap??). But I would venture a guess that there are more recalls out there waiting to be done than some folks would think. |

I haven't had anything done to mine yet. Kinda was hoping the '09 remap would be out soon so I could kill a lot of birds with one stone. My dealer did tell me they had done a few of the '08's they had left over(first remap ,recall, etc.). They said they thought they were getting a few '09's but were surprised when they got four more '08's( to add to the bunch they still had). |

The recall only effect bikes May 08 or prior. If you have a June or July build it doesn't apply. You can read about it here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/B075.pdf |
