rrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaeeeeeEEEEEEEEEnnnnnnnneeeeEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR BEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr Sorry, I couldn't resist. Kim, yes got home before the wet. Thanks for the offer on the ride w/you and Mike; Sorry I couldn't make it. I was going to head back via Bainbridge and Hwy101, overnight in Gearhart then back to PDX Sunday. But, after being at that, ahem, "dance party" until 530 am Saturday, I wasn't so ambitious. So, came back via eastsides of Rainier and St. Helens. A good ride in and of itself. Those are the pictures from Torque that Ray posted, btw. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "animal husbandry" methinks. Regards, Eric (I have 'dance party' pictures I will show you sometime, too. You will get a kick out of 'em) |

I'm bringing two quarts of official HD 20W50 motor oil, one quart of 50W, and two quarts of Sport-Trans fluid to The Swiss tomorrow night. I'm not sure if that would be a door prize or a White Elephant gift, but the’re yours for the taking. Be there or have dry flaky skin. PS -- I also have a Service (or Shop) manual for a 2000 M2 that could be had very inexpensively if you’re interested. |

Duane, the Daytona doesn't feel all that fast but I know it is. I wathched it dyno out at 118.7 rwhp. It turns very quick and is stable while doing so. The biggest drawback of the bike is it feels most comfortable at 90mph while going down the highway. Even if this bike isn't as fast as Kim's speed triple in the twisties thats okay with me. Besides I have $1000 worth of excuses in my back pocket it should not be, and thats a good thing. I guess in this area S-3 are way more popular than Daytona's. In 2000 I felt I got a good deal pickin up sweet pea for $10,000. Who would guess two years later you could get a 2002 Daytona for $8495. I had to splurge $500 for the CE. In short I may never win a parkinglot race and guys like Eric Buell may call me a squid for riding such equipment but I can live with that. LOL Mike |

Would there be anyone in the great N.W. that needs the Service Manual for a 2000 Buell M2? It's cheap plus postage. |

Hi Guys, CaptLusk from sunny and hot St Croix! Whew...what a change! IT'S HOT DOWN HERE!!! Just a quick note to let you know I'm down here and trying to get the new job sorted out. Shooter has my Daytona and you know what? It died on me! Going down the road it just stops like someone hit the kill switch. I don't think it is anything serious cause the fuel pump doesn't cycle to pressurized the system like it should, so definetly a fuel injection problem. Lights and everything else works as advertized. Good thing Shooter has a trailer, cause this happened the day before I left as I was trying to get the bike to Shooter's place. At least it's in a trailer now so when I get home I can bribe Shooter into taking it to the dealer in Olympia. Suprizingly I'm not too bothered by the event but you got to admitt, given the reasons I sold the S-3 it's ironic as hell. Everyone take care, I'll be lurking from time to time so watch what you say! Yo, Kim, RaySpaceMaines here... Changeing my name wasn't as easy as it could have been. I had to set up a whole new BadWeB account. No big thing except that I had to use a new e-mail address. My suggestion: First of all, sign up for some weird Hotmail address, then useing the "Edit Profile" feature, change the e-mail address on your current profile to the new Hotmail address. Then set up the new BadWeB account using "Sweet Pea" (or whatever) as your new name and your old e-mail address. Unless of course, you could get "sweetpea@hotmail.com" as an e-mail address. BTW, I used an upper case dash ( "_" ) between my first and last name when I signed up. You might want to use "Sweet_Pea." That would come out as Sweet Pea when you post a message. BOL |

I got all excited this afternoon and went to Performance Dyno, in Bremerton, WA and let the nice man that runs the place dyno my new Triumph Sprint RS. Two Brothers Racing muffler, Triumph ECM map #13, no other mods. Note: If the torque curve were on the same vertical graph as the H.P. curve it wouldn't look quite so wacko and would cross the H.P. line @ 5,252. I have no idea why the guy printed it this way. Max H.P. = 109.0 @ 9,400 RPM Max TQ = 66.5 @ 7,750 RPM The bike runs a little rich but not enough to justify buying a PC111. BTY, a 100% stock 2002 Speed Triple (same motor) made 101 H.P. on a different day, in a different place, on a different Dyno, with a different operator. |

Does the HP line indicate that the best acceleration would be had by up shifting at about 8,000 rpm? That would drop me back between 1,000 and 1,500 rpm and put me on the steepest part of the hp curve. |

PORTland area Buellers....Sunset Thunder Club will ride next Sunday, Oct 13. Meet at Destination Buell at 10:00AM fuelled and ready to rock and roll. This was to be our Vinyard tour, but Damn IT, there's too many fine roads in Vinyard country to waste them all on wine tasting!!!! So, we will head out on some back roads with our first stop at a School built in 1855 from lumber milled at Ellias Buell's mill. Rest stop there and then on to Buell Park for a photo opp. Great roads. Then to the Casino at Grande Rhonde where we will partake of the buffet and you can lose all the cash you want in 30-45 minutes. They will check our helmets, riding gear and etc for us. Then on some roads I'm gonna guess you aint never seen before, ending up at WillaKenzie Vineyards near Yamhill where we can see the "crush" in progress and sample what in my opinion is the world's finest Pinot Gris on the terrace overlooking the vineyard. Then back roads again to Destination. Should be back there by 5:30 at the latest. Pray for drought, at least for Sunday Oct 13. 180 easy miles. 1800 outstanding curves. Bikes, friends, Thunder under our thighs. Be there. It don't get much better than this!!!! Anybody want to get breakfast before the ride, meet at the Denny's Resturant at Progress Road and Scholl's Ferry Road at 9:00. |

Ray, i've done more circuits of Bremerton than i care to admit (back when i was a kid, you could actually cruise your car thru the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on Friday nights, altho i'm not sure now why anyone would want to do this...), but don't know where Performance Dyno is located. are they relatively new? and where and how on St. Helens did your Buell get its ash kicked? Ferris: Performance Dyno is right next door to the Honda/Ducati/Suzuki store, across the street form the Pepsi Bottling warehouse, and right in the middle of the new car lots on what I think is called Auto Row on the north side of Bremerton. I'm still too broken up to talk about the untimely demise of one of the best Buells ever made (and Court can prove it). You'll have to buy me a beer to get any more information than that. It was a horrible story, maybe two beers. Simply tragic, beyond description, perhaps three would be better. There was blood and guts everywhere, bike parts in the trees, send up a six pack. There were two bikes involved, we're looking at a half rack. They were both Buells, send a keg. They were both M2's, make that a keg of some premium micro brew. It was SOOOO sad. Send it via overnight express.
