I currently own a 2008 HD Fatbob, with stage 1 done. And an 2007 Triumph Speedmaster. Is the Lightning long with 103 HP and only weighing 400# alot quicker than the Fatbob? I miss a lighter bike that handles well, although the Fatbob handles amazingly well. |

my neighbor has a roadking with all the stage2 screamin eagle stuff, and he was amazed that my stock Ss smoked him so badly. if i had known we were racing, it would've been alot worse |

My 2006 SS does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds with quarter mile times in the mid 11's. I use a onboard race computer to measure it. My bike isn't stock, but its all bolt ons, nothing that will make a huge difference. Micron Exhaust, Race ECM, Open airbox and K&N filter. |

I also have an 06 xb12ss and I have not seen a Harley that can hang with it, straight line or backroads. If you are wanting a light bike that is nimble and easyt o handle Ihighly suggest the SS but of course I am partial to them for obvious reasons. Jimmy |

I like the 4.4 gallon fuel capacity of the SS frame. Makes it more useful on roadtrips. |

I have a 04 electraglide standard with 26g cams, forcewinder breather, 2-1 pro pipe, and powercommander. Also a 07 streetglide, 05 softail, and a sportster. I bought a firebolt for the same reason as you . I wanted a light quick bike. The buell will smoke the big twins with ease. The thing accelerates so hard compared to a Harley I was afraid to even give it full throttle for the first week. The only bad thing now is nothing else ever seems to get out of the garage. It's just too hard to leave the buell behind. |

I have a lightly modified sTT. Do it up. My roomate rides a gorgeous 99 fatboy(carburated) and it has no chance in straits or twists. If you want something with "GO" then the sS comes highly recommended by ummwha |

Xb__rick -- I agree. I have a BMW cruiser and while it's a very nice bike and handles well, I just find it nearly impossible not to ride the XB12Ss (2 months old). The XB is much more fun and I find it more comfortable than the BMW. (This was totally unexpected.) Once bitten by the Buell bug, I think I'm addicted for life. |

Stop thinking and just do it!!! I haven't had one ounce of regret since purchasing my '06 Ss. By far the biggest grin bike I have ever owned. I thought street riding couldn't get any better than my '04 KTM 625smc Supermoto. Man, was I ever wrong - after 5 months of the Buell being in the garage I watched the KTM drive off in the back of someone's pickup. Get the Ss - it'll be good for your soul! |
