Hello all, Connie's feeling much better. She's in interim ICU, (Outside of ICU, but not in general population yet). Something like that.
They're still monitoring her closely, but they've given her the go ahead to eat real food, although she's still preferring Jello and popsicles. She's disconnected from most everything but a few monitors and an IV for fluids. She's sitting up and even taking the occasional cruise around the halls. But she tires quickly, as you can probably guess.
No firm date on when she'll be moved to a regular room or a release date yet, but we're thinking positive.

I talked to Connie this afternoon, and she sounded great... So great in fact that they were letting her go home today!!

Don't know what time she was sprung... Kdan will have to update with that information.

From Dan:
She's getting sprung! Connie's being released from the hospital, so as soon as I can get up there, she'll be not in there anymore.

So if anyone was planning on visiting, or sending something, she's going to be at my house for a couple of days and then probably home, once I decide to release her.

Apparently the doctor saw her today and said she was doing so well, he didn't see any reason to keep her, so she's going straight from ICU to something worse...Dan Care. She told me that the doctor had explained to her that what looks like happened is that in the accident she had somehow doubled over so hard that her ribs had squeezed off a chunk of her liver and said chunk was still rattling around in there trying to reattach itself. If it reattaches, great, if not, she'll probably need minor surgery sometime to fish it out. Hearing her describe it, it sounds like she's got a slug squirming around in there...Go figure.

Anyway, she's coming home with me in about an hour or two.

I know you're glad to be in your OWN home and sleeping in your OWN bed, I think you heal up faster at home than in the hospital.

Hope you heal up quickly and are back on the road soon!

I just got an e-mail from Connie.
She's just ran into the realization that just because you're out of the hospital, doesn't mean you get right back to where yo left off.
Sorry it has taken so long. I've been hurting REAL bad since we got home @ 7 PM Friday night. Apparently, I was jostled around to much which started the pain up. In the hospital I rarely took more than the 1 pain pill but have had 2 almost every time since we've been home.

I didn't sleep hardly any at all Friday night and only seem to manage to get maybe 1-1 and a half hours off the pain pills each time then I was up pacing the floor unable to get rid of the pain much less get comfortable.

I've thrown up twice since I've been home so Dan'l (Frew, Kdan) called the Doc. Doc didn't have any major concerns, said it was common. Injured people come home and start moving around to much to soon, not eating enough with the meds. Usually more smaller fractures and tears that were not addressed in the hospital since they were not life threatening will start to show up. I'm feeling it in my shoulder, forearm, back and THE kidney.

*****Soooo, all my grand ideas of getting back at it have at the moment been put back on strict Bed Rest (per the rotation doc) for at least 3 days. I will call my doc tomorrow and scheduled an appointment.

READERS DIGERST VERSION: I won't be back in the computer as soon as I expected much less ready for visitors or making calls. REALLY SORRY! I will send out an update as soon as I have more information.

Thanks guys! Prayers are still appreciated.

Connie aka Bambi

I'd bet she could use an e-mail or two.
There's nothing like finding out people are still thinking about you when you're feeling so bad.

I hope no one was offended that it took so long for me to give my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the 3% and Buellers from all over. I just had a little bit I wanted to say and kept getting tired before I could get it all down.

I believe that all the prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes is what allowed me to come home without having to have surgery. 3 days of not being able to sit up straight or have an actual drink because any minute they may have to "rush you into surgery" can get on your nerves after a while. But if they had, my 4 week stretch could have easily turned into a 6 week one with all kind of other fun stuff so thanks again for all the good Karma folks!

Second I want to thank Charlie, Sancheze, John(?) and everyone else who helped get my bike taking care of and safely home. Kdan's KLR went Kaput so he said he'll be turning the blue biddy into his Frankin-work-bike it seems.

And last but far from least I want to thank Raty-Son, The one the only Ratman himself, RUSS TYSON!

Sometimes when accidents happen, there are people that jump in to help for no other reason than to be in the Hero Glory lite themselves. But Not Ra Ra. He jumped in and even with all those people around he had 1 purpose and one purpose only, to make sure I was as safe and comfortable as possible. No matter how contorted he needed to make his body to make sure my head and my back were getting as much support as possible.

I am a firm believer things happen for a reason and his timing couldn't have been more perfect or God only know how long it what have taken before someone came a long and find me with the bike on top of me and how much more damage that would have caused. 10 seconds doesn't seem like a long time until you can't breath. The idea of 2 minutes makes me sick to my stomach.

Speaking of thinkings happening for a reason, funny how I made just 1 slide show of a complete stranger (back then) and that complete stranger turns out to be my HERO 2 and a half years later.

Heres to you Ratman! Many, Many, Thanks!
