I just got mine in the mail yesterday. I have not tried it yet as the bike is tore apart so I can replace the stator. I took it out and messed around with the mechanism etc... I like it! Appears well made etc.....I plan on using it with my smaller parabellum windshield in the very near future. |

Does it allow height as well as tilt adjustments? ...seems like it's pretty much the same thing as Strada's if so, so I'd expect it to work about as well (which is to say, very well). Looks more 'refined' than the version I've got, though - I don't know if he's advanced the design any. |

It allows height and tilt. Sold out unfortunately according to the website. Looks nice though. |

It does offer Height and Tilt adjustment and one big difference between this one and Strada's is that this one replaces the stock fly screen with an aluminum one. (Message edited by gamdh on September 05, 2008) |

I'd stick with Strada's that way I won't have to change to the ugly flat black color. |

Strad's = Palmer Brackets Do a search on Badweb, Ebay, Advrider. His brackets are fantastic. I am running one now and love it. |

"I don't know if he's (Madstad) advanced the design any." Madstad's design preceeded Strada's by some years as he made the adjustable brackets for the VeeStrom before he came up with the Uly version. I have one on my Uly and am finding that being able to make very slight adjustments a strong feature of the brackets. I got his windshield with it and I'm still "tuning" the placement for optimum benefit. Ride, adjust, repeat until satisfied. Another benefit is that when I use my 06 seat, I can easily reposition the shield to get the same effect. I've found that I won't be able to get the wind over the helmet even with the 07 seat so am shooting for just below it. I'm close and it really cuts down on the chest drag but there is still enough breeze to cool me through my mesh jacket. It changes the character of the ride in a very positive way. |

+2 on the Strada's brackets ! - with the taller Buell or ZG screen (though I went for a 16" parabellum to get a bit more width) it transforms the Uly into an exceptionally capable all weather adventure tourer. |

Also, forgot to mention... with the MadStad, no tools required to adjust the windshield. |

I ordered the Palmer brackets today. Including shipping the cost was $103. Don't know how long they take to get here but as soon as they do and I get them on I'll post a review. Bob |

Somehow even though Strada is in the UK, his crap gets here quicker than most US companies. |

Anyone ever used Laminar Lips? |

Used the lip on my Concours,Wing then Uly. When Fiance got her Scg she complained about the wind, so I put the lip on her Lightning and she didn't give it back, so I got some Palmer brackets to try. I like the brackets better than the lip, but I must have gotten the last pair that were not slotted so it is a pain in the butt to adjust them. I should have held out or told him I wanted the slotted ones. O well once adjusted (and it took two days, and now with fall coming on probably another day or two of ride stop take out bolts, adjust screen, replace bolts, ride ad infinitum) the brackets work very well. I would ONLY get the Palmers with the slotted adjustment. Anyone want to purchase my present set so that I can get the new and improved version? |

I emailed and they will have stock this week. I also asked about a plain flyscreen without any windshield holes and he is going to make a couple to see if they sell. So if you've ever wanted to impress the chicks with bugs between your teeth when you smile drop him an email from his site madstad.com |
