Anyone have cruise control on there firebolt xb12r? My dealer sold me a "vista cruise" clamp like setup... Only to find out later it wouldnt fit. Just wondering if any one out there has some type of cruise control to give your right hand a break on long highway runs..? |

I have Rizoma grips & bar ends. When on a long trip I just tighten the bar end a little bit and it adds some pressure to the grip. It works kinda like a HD cruise control. |

The former owner of my bolt(a hd/buell mechanic) installed a throttle lock switch on mine...i'll post a picture of it whenever gustav passes and i can get back down to my bike...it works pretty well just to give your hand a rest, but its hard to find the right rpm to lock it in cuz it either continues to speed up or starts to slow down, so i have yet to perfect it. |

Throttlemeister... I've had them on my Bolt since I bought it and on my Ninja before that. I don't like the "extra" hardware on the clamp style showing on the bars. My 2 cents. |

I use a 1 1/4" rubber O-ring. Works perfect. Just place it in between your grip and your engine run switch box. When not in use just leave it on your grip. Home depot sells them for $2 and some odd cents for a pack of 6. |

Vista Cruise makes more than 1 kind of throttle lock......I use the one that doesn't have the connecting bar and all that misc. stuff. WOrks really good...gorilla glued to outside edge of throttle housing |

packrat and i have the same set-up. it took some customizing, but it is well worth it. around 35 bones, some sanding and then glue/screw it on. i got the 7/8" -unversal for honda. cut off the cable tab and then start sanding until you're happy. it's been posted several times. check the archives (Message edited by nillaice on September 02, 2008) |

Dano, which size VC Universal do you use on your XT? Is it the 1" or 7/8"? I have been using a throttle rocker and my girlfriend has a cramp buster. But I have used Vista Cruise products on previous bikes. Thanks for the answer! |

Bearracing---the "techs" at your dealer must be SLACK, if the y couldn't make that fit!! I assure you, I have one on my bike, it was easy to install, and it works great!! More than likely, they didn't "bother" to read the simple, easy to follow instructions..I bet they didn't smooth down the ridges on the inboard end of the throttle tube- if that isn't done, the clamp won't fit correctly over the throttle tube. I used a dremel on mine....it is NOT difficult to install, at all. |

Thanks Packrat, I am ordering one today. It will be nice to give the right hand a break every once in a while. I have seen them advertised for a long time, but never knew if it really worked. |

I have the Manic Salamander bar end weight throttle lock. It works real easy. I did have to get some shims from them for more spring pressure so it didn't slip as easily. http://www.manicsalamander.com/throttle_lock.htm |
