Well, the insurance adjuster came by yesterday to look at the Blast and he told me due to the frame damage, it will likely be Totaled. The bad news is, I am not sure I got Gap InsuranceIf thats the case, I'm going to take a good-sized loss. Oh well. I guess all it takes is a near death experience to make these realizations. Also, I friggin' forgot to show the adjuster my riding gear so i can include that in the claim as advised. I e-mailed them back to see if I can throw it in. So, in the meantime, any suggestions on what I should ride and hopefully not wreck next season? Methinks I'm going to change my handle to EKBlast (Evel Knievel.) |

honestly, i would get another bike asap, or atleast ride another. if u wait to long u may never get on another bike because of this wreck. but for another bike..hmm..with ur height( meaning no disrespect) im not sure, if u want to get on an xb, i would say go that route. they make all sortsa stuff for u to "lower" the bike. i think the XB12Scg would be a good start, more power, but the seat height is about an inch taller, but i know they make one that will lower the seat 1". also look for a used one, most the of them will have the basic bolt-ons on it so that helps. hope this helps. Thanks for letting us know whats going on with ur bike. Btw how u doing?? |

Just to add on to what Myron was saying...if you go with an XB, they sell a seat for around $95 that lowers the seat height about an inch or two...being more on the midget side of the house, I had to get one...hope everything goes well with the insurance claim, and get back on the horse before too long. |

Bah! I've been dealing with midget jokes all my life AND I had to take some of the worst of it from Marine Infantrymen! As if you didn't notice the thick skin which may have saved my hide this time around. As for bikes, I've been eyein' this http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 388234.html?1220052076 and this http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 390561.html?1220104670. I hope the 9SL doesn't sell before I settle up on the Blast. I may buy it. Unfortunately, i am cautious about buying a bike that i haven't been able to sit on and try out. That's my biggest sticking point about buying on the net. As for me, most of the major soreness is gone. Just nursing the sore ribs still. Thanks for asking though. Phil, I assume you ride the 9SX. How tall are you? I'm a mere 64". |

if they total it, do they take it too? I mean, if they do total it, does that mean that you get a project bike to rebuild, it's just that now you have to list it as totaled on the title? Not so bad if you are the one riding it, it may make it tough to resell though. Heck, if they pay off 75% of it, that means you've got a project during the "off season" and one heck of a custom bike for 25% (plus parts) NEXT YEAR! Just curious, i'm a wrench turner not a insurance adjuster! Does anyone know the rules about that? |

Mel, it's my experience that if the insurance company deems your vehicle "totaled" they will not take it and pay you the NADA value for the vehicle. I had a neighbor that had his SUV "totaled" in a flood and they let him keep it. He winded up selling it for parts. I'm not sure if this will hold true for my particular insurer or for motorcycles for that matter. I hope it does because i already bought new grips and handlebars for the Blast beforehand and never had the chance to install them. |

James....I've looked at the CR and there's no way you're backin that into a corner. Pound for pound a purpose built supermoto will outperform the 1125CR (in its element) any day. Its just not what I want and Im not compromising any more. I'll have the 9 for a while but its days are numbered. The last few weeks have left a bad taste in my mouth. |

Funny you should ask. I am trying to get an update as I type. Trying to get the number for my Claim Agent. Any funds that are generated from the parting out of me bike (assuming that it will be totaled)will have to go towards recouping the loss I will taking on the loan. If there is anything left, I will put towards a new bike. I must admit, the CR tempts me! I am hoping I will not be able to sit it! I will be window shopping at the Open House on the 13th though. |

Matt, take your folks to the aquarium in VA Beach, or the VA Living Museum in NN...they'll enjoy hanging out at a slower pace, and they'll like seeing the kids' reaction. |

Nillaice, I recommend the Dolphin Watching charter from Rudee Inlet down at the Beach. I took my Aunt and Uncle and they had a blast. Myron, The Insurance Company will only pay the NADA value of the bike (which is about 4000 right now) so I lost 675 right of the bat. That doesn't include the freight charge. The loan amount is a little more than the MSRP. If I had GAP Insurance (which Progressive nor NFCU offers) the loan amount would be covered. |

XB9 intermittent engine light issue SOLVED! Had to use my stock ECM to find the problem. It appears that the wiring harness to my Race ECM was rubbing on the nitrgen cylinder for the shock and chaffed the wiring pretty bad. They are fixing it as I type this. Good thing because I was getting pretty pissed off. Im happy to note that my race ECM is fine but they do not give codes like a stock ECM will. So if you have the race ECM, hold onto your stock ECM. I'll be out and about tonight riding. Yes, Im still gonna sell it and get a SuperMoto. |
