I attend events that require the rider to be tethered to a kill switch on the bike. After a long and expensive search I found this one that only requires a small amount of modification. I got it from Pingleonline.com. Part# 620.

Why does a bike need a tether kill switch?!?! If you fall off the bike isn't going to stay up for very long and once it falls over the bank angle sensor will turn off the engine.

What's the point if Buell has an on board bank-angle sensor? Or does the group just set one standard for everybody?

Many drag clubs require a tethered kill switch - some LSR (I think) do also.

Like most tech rules, they vary from organization to organization. I don't know of any roadracing organization that requires one however.

The tech inspection requires a kill switch, stabilizer, etc. Also, a bike can stay upright for a long time after the rider departs.

Good point about the sensor but a lot of bikes don't have these so they want the kill switch on everything.

Also about getting body parts stuck in things like sprockets, belts, chains, wheels etc.

Rationale is that if you come of all you have to do is take your right hand away from the throttle and the tether will cut the ignition.

I had a guy come in the other day that had a small screw holding a thether onto his factory off switch. as you come off the bike you pull it and the bike shuts off. And it was a whole $2 to build it if that.

The stabilizer works great, I have it set at it's lowest setting as anything above "1" is too much for me. I don't think a XB really needs a stabilizer, I had to get one to pass tech inspection. Even thought the GPR is a nice unit I don't think it improves the ride.
