Don, To be full member does require a VIN #. However, an associate member just needs a current member as a "sponsor". The sponsor doesn't need to be a spouse (at least from what I can see on the enrollment form). They do say the membership is designed for a "passenger or family member". You are correct on the requirements of joining a local chapter (but who really checks). I'm not about to deny someone the opportunity to join our activities just because they have a different bike. Bad, Sounds like a great idea for the "height challanged" Buell riders. I know a few people that would love to ride Buells but they feel the bike is "too big". Don, Say it again....Kumbaya Mennis |

Exactly! Noone is denied from our activities. We even ecourage people to come along in their cars! How's THAT for acceptance? Oh, and the secretary checks for valid membership. Vespas RULE! |

Don Please don't take my comments as me saying that BRAG has been exclusionary in terms of events and activities, I don't have enough experience with the group to know either way and from the group that I met, I can't see it being that way. As for membership, again, I'm not saying that BRAG should change, it only makes sense that membership comes with ownership, but on the other hand you don't have to own one to be a Buell enthusist. |

Now for something completely different: I went for a ride last night just to get out of the house (Yellow had a chick party). Anyway, I had a county sheriff follow me the WHOLE time. Can you believe that? That takes the fun out faster than dropping your bike at a BRAG meeting. ;-) Vent over |

With the exception of the State Trooper, I have always been recieved well by the chicago burb cops. "cool Buell" and "I got a wide glide" commonly replace the License and proof of insurance requests. One time while getting pulled over I couldn't get the bike out of gear (typical right?) and the cop blasted on the speaker for me to get off the bike. so I shut off the engine and dismounted. When he walked up he said "Cool bike, sorry 'bout the loudspeaker, I thought you were one of those kids on a rice rocket who would try and run on me..." We then talked about Harleys, riding skills courses, and the like. 5 min later, no ticket. This has happened to me so frequently since I bought the Buell that I was actually shocked when a Trooper wrote me a tik for speeding on I94 !!! Mabey I'm just lucky. We'll see how I fare with the new exhaust... |

Bomber, the job quitting deal went well. I went in this morning & talked to HR & then My dept manager. They were both shocked but they said they couldnt fault me for accepting the new job. My manager asked me to stay on for another 3 days so they can figure something out. I told him no problem. So next friday is my last day there. |

On to the other subject of my POS Buell. Jeff at Ukes just called me & told me they got the fax from Buell about any possible goodwill. Buell said NO! Fuck Buell! It doesnt fall under the scope of their goodwill program is the way it was stated to me. Never ever again will I purchase anything related to Buell. And yes I will go to any & all extremes to bad mouth the bikes & the company. Wait till next yrs open house. I am probably gonna get arrested. |

Dyna...Sorry to hear that they won't do anything for you with the X1. It really sucks that they don't have some type of lemon law for bikes also. Mennis |
