This thing looks sweet in person. No worries for now only because I need wind protection , Still love my 1125r. Tried to upload photos but it keeps saying they are to big?? Shrunk em down 3 times and still no good. Will try to get on for everybody to see later. Dealer would not let me demo...bummer (sold unit) |

Good to hear! I've got my name on the first one to hit here. I sold my Lightning about a month ago, and am stuck riding my wife's scooter till the CR appears. <sigh> Fortunately, I'm secure enough in my masculinity to be able to rock a scooter. Rob

Its temping to trade the bolt for one, but I'm a bit attached. If you want to trade scooter stories not only am I secure enough to say that I will drive one sometimes but that I even crashed one recently. |

Call me crazy, but I think the CR is just wicked looking. Some people hate them, but I absolutely love Buell's styling. To each his own, I suppose...... |

I am really chompin at the bit now. I think that the CR will be better accepted than the R. Rob |

Point noted. I'm already sold. It just makes me warm and fuzzy that Buell may have a screaming home run on their hands. Not buying just because it's different, but that I like it even if it is different. With luck, he will sell every one of em, and achieve the business success he really does deserve. Rob |

We just received one at our dealership. If the CR was available at the same time as the R, I probably would have gone for the CR. It is a mean looking machine. I would have had to go with a different handlebar set-up to improve rider comfort. Thinking about doing that to my R. But, I have to admit, there is a strong urge to trade in the R for the CR. |

I'm going to order the wide bar pieces immediately. Buell has em all listed on the site. Approx $200 for all the pieces... Rob |

What's the difference in specs for the R v the CR? Or is there none??? |

Different bars (higher), 8% shorter gearing (better acceleration), that's it for the mechanicals. None of the "tuned for torque" crap. Rob |

I believe the bars and seating position on the CR are exactly the same as the R ... but Buell now offers a kit, for $, to move the bars. |

My initial reaction was not good towards the CR, but it is growing on me. I still like the R better and (like the R) I am sure the CR will be better in the flesh. This picture in this thread is the best I have seen yet of the CR... |

OMG! OMG! Its awesome!...no word can describe this CR..cafe racer...the gearing..no hesitation....for brand new...lots of changes...dont think you can change the R to this model...its got different front..cluster..etc. This bike will go...I rode it a good 10 miles and it will wheelie easier in a lot more gears(i was holding back since i was wearing dealer shirt and new bike)..feels torquier!...with the lower gearing and no hesitation under 6000 rpm...it feels like a dirt bike..moves you forward more than the R..but is so much fun..im 48yo...a mx and supermoto racer for years and ridden lots of crotch rockets...and cruisers of all kinds....This could be the Buell meal ticket! I rode it a good 10 miles and it will wheelie easier in a lot more gears(i was holding back since i was wearing dealer shirt and new bike) I would hope so...if this bike is destined to go to the showroom floor. Those techs that go on a wheelie happy "joy ride" on a someone else's brand new bike should be fired on the spot. Not only do we get screwed on the PDI fee, but then we have someone abuse our new bike on top of it....that's awesome! |

Ehhh... if you know how to do a good wheelie (with a nice gentle set down) and want to wheelie a bike before I buy it, no big deal to me. Just don't go bouncing it off the rev limiter on a cold motor... But if you break it, you buy it Hope the CR's are at Mid Ohio inside pass! I really want to ride one. Hope they have a TT as well, but doubt they will. |

Believe me..im the buell guy!..and we are suppose to know how this bike rides or feels like(tops was 4th gear in a 4-6000 rpm range easy)..but i will tell you some of the Buell haters that work at Harley and the crotch rocket guys really like the look of the bike more in person and this bike will either sell very quick or be a demo!!! to sell many!.....it very much looks like a Transformer than the firebolt now and i wonder if the new Transformer movie will switch to this bike...?! But if you break it, you buy it Problems will most likely manifest later... Reminds me when I went for a Mazda RX-8 test drive and the slsm was bouncing the engine off the rev-limiter ON THE ACCESS ROAD TO THE STREET. What an idiot. Needless to say that was not the RX-8 I ended up buying....I even wrote the GM of the dealership to express my disgust with the treatment of the brand new, ice-cold car. |

I think it may be naive to think that motorcycle enthusiast that work in shops, people who rent or test drive bikes will ride them like pussies. I'm just saying... |

SO then, are we to gather that the 09 mapping is perfected by the few who have test ridden the CR? What's the scoop in the low rpm/cruise ranges? Any AFV & elevation data? Who ever is going to Mid Ohio...I hope you all check er out good. I can't go as still recovering from three vertebrae fusions complete w/titanium plate & donor bones! |
