I think I was stating something similar in another thread. Nothing new, really. Just the impression from people that the AMA is the place. That comes from fans and riders. |

What do you mean , Dave? This article points out that the AMA is NOT the PLACE. It compares the sad state of affairs where winning in the supposed TOP level of riding in America nets you far less money than Club racing. It shows how uneven the level of equipment is relative to the payout! In this matter , possibly the DMG can flip this problem and bring in sponsors that can make placing in a national event pay WAY more than in club racing as it should be! |

Right, that's what I've stated. There's no real good reason to do AMA as it is. There's a lot of money to be made in club racing following contingency money. Robert Jensen is a great example. And this has been true for a very, very long time. I do hope the new program turns things around a bit. But with the payout that Roger is proposing, Jeff Wood would still have lost money. It will take time for teams to develop. Until then, contingency is still king. |

We were talking about this in a regional forum where Jeff Wood is a local (but not a regular member). http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/pit-area/40217 -cost-ama-racing.html |
