Yet again badweb and the network of people here make this my favorite site. A while back Bbbob posted there was a good deal to be had at the shop he worked at but he did not need (want) the bike, just some items of interest from the bike. I contacted him and as luck would have it, I live close. The shop had a 99x1 for a little over $1000 bucks. It was rough but did have some nice bits. It had a works shock on it and some billet pegs that Bbbob wanted. He and I were able to come to a deal where he'd take the goodies he wanted and I'd buy the bike. He essentially got what he wanted for free and I got a heck of a deal on a bike. Bbbob is such a class act that he swapped the works shock with the stock one from his x1 leaving me with a very rideable bike. This is what I took home.
Well, I pulled the fairing and sold it. I still have the speedo and tach but I am going to run it without them. I bought a $70 driving lamp- the same one on the Mert Lawell street tracker from Omar's- and a can of satin black paint for the tank cover. A few bucks for some hi-temp header paint and I shot the header and the Vance and Hines can too. $18 bucks got me the bars and another $18 got me the turn signals. What I have now is a unique looking bike for under $1400 dollars. Thanks for the opportunity Bbbob. Here it is now... I am trying to fab a new subframe for a XR flatrack tailsection.

Nice ride! Im diggin' the Buck Rodgers Cylon headlight and the blacked out tail. Sweet deal too. BWB Buellers are a cut above the rest. |

$1000? For that kind of money, you could have covered it in fur and I'd still like it! I'm cursed to a life of paying full retail it seems. |

Andrew, The bike looks great! That was a win-win deal all around. We should go for a ride soon. I'm a civilian Bueller now so I have plenty of time. |

Hughie03flhr, Not too sure but is is stock on the Mert Lawwill production bike-
That thing is produced in CA- so it may be street legal. I am thinking about sliding it down and putting a number plate on it... |

Where's your front fender and will you part with it? I kinda like the flat-track look but I think I'd put the speedo back on. Sometimes I'll look down and be very surprised to see how quick I got going that fast! Let me know about the fender. |

Nice X1 one of a kind. Where did you get the bars? Did you shoot the header on the bike or pull it off? |

The bars are from dennis kirk and I took the headers off...
That is where I encountered 2 exhaust bolts coming out and 1 breaking as I removed it. Not fun. Jstfrfun-the fender is in rough shape- chipped and pieces broken off around one of the mounting areas. If you are looking for a pristine fender this is not it. If you'd like pics -PM me. Andrew |
