I got the new Avons on the bike this weekend and just had to give them a try. So late this afternoon I headed out to a road I know that has some good turns. I was running through the turns and the new tires felt so good I pushed a little harder than I normally do. In one really tight turn I went in a little hotter than I realized, so I started to fade to the middle when I realized there was an on coming car so that lane was closed off to me. I just leaned harder into the turn and in the process, I scrapped the peg. How cool is that, I scrapped the peg on a blast. I love that little bike!!! |

That's freakin awesome. My pegs are still virgin, but hopefully in the next month I'll get to scrape one up! |

I am soooooo stoked about scraping the peg. I always knew that the bike had a lot more that I have been asking of her. Last night I felt like I was really getting the best from her. The Stryker Viper tires are great. It feels like I'm glued to the road when I compare them to the original Dunlaps. I rode the bike into work today and running at speed on the causeway it felt very stable. I'm amazed how much difference the bigger, wider tires make. At 65 mph there was no hint of wobble or shake. I see now why people here on the board like this tire so much. My new girl friend works till nine tonight so guess what I'm gonna do until 8:45... (Message edited by Zane on August 11, 2008) |

J2blue, Dude, didn't anyone tell you? You're supposed to scrap the BOTTOM of the pegs... |

I bought a 2000 Blast on the 30th of July. I didn't have my permit or the bike tagged right away because I needed a safety inspection in MO. I realized that I needed a new rear tire. After the advise on this forum I opted for the AM63's. I found the best price on chaparral-racing.com. After I completed my order I noticed the tires were on back order. I called and they assured me the rear would be here by the 20th, and the front would ship by the 21st. I did receive the rear on the 21st. Just in time to get it mounted and inspected after the safety class and before I had to pay an over 30 day penalty. I really like the new tire but I am a bit uneasy riding on the older front Dunlap. I called chaparral-racing again today and now they tell me the front is back ordered till October 31st. I called 3 other stores that showed it in stock and got the same story. Apparently everyone is pulling their scooter out of storage recently. |

Evil, When I bought mine about 3 weeks ago Chaparral Motorsport had the AM63s fronts in stock. Give them a try. Front AM 63 110/70/16 in stock, $49.85 http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/product_ family.asp?family%5Fid=15411&gift=False&mscssid=0A 4B8F0BEA94643F285C5FF446DC11DF |

I have the 120/80/16 on the rear now... Since the 100/80/16 is on back order, how foolish would it be to put a 110/70/16 on the front at this point? |

I don't think it would hurt a thing. |

I have a 110/70/16 AM 63on the front and a 120/80/16 AM 26on the rear of the Big Kids Blast. He really likes the combination. I haven't had the chance to ride it yet. |
