hope this is in the right forum, but we did a 100mile to day and noticed after about 30 miles my right hand starts going numb. Loosening the glove strapped help but not enough. Any ideas? | ||

well no, there is nothing for getting numb fingers after riding for awhile. you going to get that on any buell and harley. | ||

My hands particularly the right one tends to go numb. I find that using the weight of the hand in the web to hold the throttle in position allows me to move my fingers around. I find the feeling returns in a couple minutes and I repeat the process in 1/2hr or so. I tend to ride with a couple fingers over the levers so changing which fingers also helps. There are products called bar snake that are reported to work well from my rice rocket buddies. I have also heard that a 1.5" thick stack of nickles epoxied into the bar ends makes a good damper but have never personally seen it done. Hope this helps. | ||

Bob Loosen your grip as much as you can. Also look at how your levers are angled. When you are riding your levers should be positioned such that your wrist are not cocked backward or bent excessively down. Your wrist should be relaxed. Also keep your weight off your hands. Use you legs and back to support your weight. Getting the ergonomics correct will make riding more fun and result in a more capable unit. (rider/Buell) Joe | ||

A throttle lock (easy to do) will allow you to remove your r/h from bars every so often......sure do like mine....less than $30.00. | ||

I second the vote for a throttle lock . I have had carpel tunnel for several years and no combination of anti vibration products, hand positions, or techniques made any difference. I just lock the throttle and let my hand hang for a minute about every 15 min. I am scheduled to fix this problem this winter, can't wait to ride without the numb fingers. Rick | ||

I have that problem also and recently realized it was my 1/2 fingered gloves. they must cut off circulation a bit. | ||

Even simpler than a throttle lock is one of the plastic paddles that slip onto the grip (Throttle Rocker comes to mind). These allow you to loosen your grip and control your speed with the "meat" of your palm rather than your fingers. I've used them on all my bikes with good results. | ||

Buell_bert--- I "think" Vista Cruise is the name of the throttle lock I have..Gorilla glued it to throttle housing and it works like a charm!! they make 2 different types, use the one without the bar EZPZ (Message edited by packrat on August 22, 2008) | ||

Grip Puppies from Ca Sport Touring work great to dampen vibrations. They slip over the top of the existing grips, plus they increase the diameter of the grips which is more comfortable, I think. | ||
