Easy there guys, The price of the bike wasn't the real issue. What I was looking for was input on how you feel about your particular bike. What it's like to live with on a long term basis. It's hard to get any saddle time on a bike you don't own,for the obvious reasons.A ride up and down the street or just around the block will only tell you if the mechanical are sound, not what the bike will be like to live with.So thats what I am looking for, thoughts and opinions on your bike and the expiriances you have had with them. |

Can't say for the other guys posting but I took off from Ky. to Fl. soon after I got my X1, was gone for a week and really didn't get saddle sore until we were half way back to Ky. I had been on it for six days straight at the time so any bike/seat combo was going to get uncomfortable. I've seen 500 mile days on it without problem. Getting ready to do the Dragon and Blueridge Pkwy. in a couple of weeks so there's another three days in the saddle. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post up when I get back. |

I am probably the newest Buell guy around here having had my '00 X1 for only three months and just finished putting 2000 miles on it (bought it with 9000 miles). It's my second bike and I only started riding motorcycles last year. I love its no frills, purpose built design and packaging, and the way it demands respect. Its a bike that one can grow with and always seem to have a lot more to offer as I get a better rider. It has now become my most precious belonging and I do have a lot of toys... The most embarrassing part is getting caught in the garage by the wife, in the middle of the night, just looking at the bike with a small flashlight! Hard to explain... |

Ok, the coolest thing about my Buell is that it has made me a better rider. It has challenged me to ride more aggresivly in corners and has actually saved me from disaster with its handling. My 03VStar 1100 will only let me ride for about 50miles before I have to get off and walk out the "monkey-butt", the X1 however has given over 250-300miles at a time without any discomfort at all, whodathought? I don't have any knowlege of the other models but the praise given in these threads seem to echo similar sentiments. |

Kalali no explanation needed - I am EXACTLY the same way with my X1. My first bike ever was a Blast last year. After putting 3600 miles on her I got my X1 and the only thing that could separate us now is one of us dying. (I hope it's me first - I couldn't stand giving her up) I average 1000 miles a month and am more amazed with Sandra than anyone I know with their "me too" bikes. I just give her lots of TLC mechanically, and run her like a raped ape on the road - it's a beautiful relationship. |
