Hey guys, I'm trying to track down a weird vibration I've been getting lately. I've got the locking bar from American Sportbike, and I thought I'd go in and make sure my primary nut hadn't worked itself loose. I thought this would be pretty straightforward, but now looking at the service manual, I'm afraid I might be in for more than I bargained. I can't make out the details in the b&w manual photos, and the expanded view is kinda confusing... am I going to have to remove a bunch of stuff to even get to the primary nut? Or is it easy access after I pop the cover? Thanks! ~SM |

once you pull the cover it is done, you need only to remove the " double eye" retainer ring pull the bolt/bearing (1 piece) and you will see the nut. if you want to remove the basket, to check friction signs of it against the case(this option means a problem), remember you do NOT need to remove the front sprocket. when the nut is removed with one hand hold the basket with the other pull the disks pack , at this point the basket is floating and you can easy remove the chain and than the basket. bye Alessio |

" double eye" retainer ring must mean a snap ring and the rest seems like it addresses the clutch, but I thought you meant the nut on the end of the crank. I can look at the manual and see what I can see. |
