Damn, lots of nice riding going on, wish I could join in, what with not having to work at the moment and all...oh, wait. Damn. Got that whole learning-to-walk-again thing to deal with. <sigh> At least I'm home again! Hope everyone had some fun riding! I know (and miss) all those roads... |

Joe we stopped in at HDoF to get a battery for my dead beast. We missed your smiling face for sure. The place isn't the same without you. They must not be moving any Buells either. Only the 08's are on the floor. They said the 09 were still in the back. They better get you back soon. How's the healing going ? |

Rich, according to my shop manual, the trouble code Ramon read (23) refers to a front fuel injector. That can't been right. Clearly my issue is related to charging. The manual covers the test procedure for the stator and the voltage regulator. Guess I'll have to make some time to look into it. Pretty weird how the check engine light went out and I had no problems getting all to way home from High Rock. |

Tony - the healing is going OK, I actually cheated tonight and walked about six feet without using the walker (shhh, don't tell the docs). Now if I could just get over those damn meds they had me on, I'd be OK. The joint pain and wound pain is nothing compared to the narcotic DT's... One thing I've learned code-wise is, if you have a dropping system voltage, random codes can pop up. Charging system checks are fairly straightforward if you know your way around a meter, or if you're having trouble you can always swing by the shop (after Weds, he's on vacation) and talk to the "other" Joe, technician Joe Hess. Great guy, owns/rides a 12S, and brought my S2 home the day of my 'event'. |

Joe, thanks for the tip and the heads up on the "proper Joe" to go see. I've got the battery on a charger, and I'm going to go over the bike with a multimeter sometime this week. I hope I didn't suck the life out of that brand new battery I purchased. That's more expensive that gas.... let see... 150+ miles on a $105 dollar battery. Dump the walker... get one of these for household mobility.

Yeah, it was an adventure for sure and a good time. Perfect weather too. It's best to get out early, or do the route backwards to avoid traffic. Who's got the next ride? |

Wahhh!! I wanted to ride.. Really I did.. But after the four days of "Racing 2 Save Lives" My tires are shot.. I've ordered another set and hope to have them in.. Then I just have to get them mounted and balanced.. I think I may also need some new brake pads.. Damn! Sounds like you had a great time.. and I'd dearly love to 'take the next one' so to speak, however I've got some busy times coming up.. Next weekend, I'll be shooting the MotoST in NJ (anyone going to be there to cheer on the Buells!?) Then, there's ASRA/CCS at Summit Point (hope they've repaired the track by then or it's going to be one ugly race weekend for the riders) Then I'm off to Indy for the MotoGP.. Then CCS at VIR.. I'm going to check my calender and see what the next open weekend I have is.. and try to plan a ride for it.. I'll post up in a little bit and let you know what I've got.. Oh yeah.. and the damn day job keeps insisting that I do some work with them as well.. (does anyone have a job opening where I can just ride and shoot pictures and actually make a living at it?) Later.. |

Joe! Glad to hear your getting more mobile! We're back from our OBX vaca and on the saddle.. Installed the Corbin seat, went out for a shake ride, sweet seat! Tried a new way to an old route: From Springfield, to Occoquan, topped off at Wawa - too expensive, try Sheetz!; hit PW Parkway; right on Davis Ford Rd, Right on Yates Ford; Right on Henderson; then Right on Hampton Rd.; Right on Rt. 123; Left on Lorton Rd.; Right on Furnace Rd.; Across Rt. 1; Left on Colchester Rd.; Stayed on until Rt. 1, headed home.. The sun was beginning to hit my face (my sunglasses broke) so I decided to try a route with the sun behind me... All in all, a nice shake ride for both the new seat and me.. |

<ahem> Politically, the accident was not on any of my personal bikes. All three still sitting in the garage, waiting for me for whenever I'm able and allowed to use them again Getting ready for the first day of PT/rehab at the new place...gotta run. Wish me luck! |

Kyri and whoever else is interested This weekend 3 of us are riding to the NRA Firearms museum near Fairfax, Va We're taking back roads and most likely staying there overnight, we haven't decided on what day yet, going Saturday or Sunday. Anybody else interested in joining us on a scenic comfortable ride you're welcome to join. NRA firearms Museum has a Wild West exhibit going on there now. I thought it would be neat to see some old gun fighter 6 shooters. My route thru Maryland will take us across White's Ferry onto Lees HWY down onto route 7. Going home we're just going to super slab it on 66. K |

Thanks Jose' I like the first route almost similar to what I was thinking about riding, but didn't know the roads near that area. I hear its congested on 7 and the highway that runs next to it. Kyri.... you giving up on riding this year? Buells love the weather coming up. You too busy with the kids going back to school? K |
