Man this sucks, my 9SX is in the shop for leaky valve cover and now an engine light is on. A Harley motor that leaks....Im not happy...I might not be ridin a Buell much longer fellas. These motors can't hold up to me and I just rolled 5000 miles. Maybe I shouldn't write this post after having a few beers....LOL Just venting...later Goody |

Okay, I need some advice, I guess I will know more when they tell me the price. So I called SSHD about my bike today, and at first they couldn't find a leak either. So when they rode it the second time, it leaked and they are saying it is the swing arm. No he is saying that I should call the insurance company. Now of course the bike was knocked over by accident. But in the long run, what is better? Or should I superglue the hell out of the seam of the swing arm and call it a day? Dave |

David, my first suspicion was the swingarm...aluminum is strong but if its gonna fail...it will be in the weld seam. My suggestion is to pick up one from ebay...put some JB weld on the seam for now and then replace it. Dont let them idiots in service do it unless you feel like giving money away. Goody |

Mike...I was really pissed yesterday when I dropped her off. I like the bike but I keep trying to get more out of it and Im a supermoto dude at heart and backin in a Buell take some real BALLS and effort. I was riding her down to the dealer for service and the engine light came on. NOW WHAT? I've been eyeing the Aprilia 550SXV Supermoto and the KTM 690SMC. Just have to wait and see. Later fellas. |

Myron, The oil would show up on the swingarm at the bottom and around the top. I thought it was the line at first, but that is just where the oil gathered. But the thing is that I have to ride around 30 or so miles for it to come out. So the leak isn't bad, but it is there. And since 2 separate dealers couldn't find it, it must be the swing arm. But I figured that they would be able to check that and make sure. Todd, Yeah you were right. I like the JB Weld idea though. I will put it on and around the seam and see how that does. I wonder if I can do it with it on the bike or do I try to remove it. When they call tomorrow, I will just go and pick up then. |

I would say that it is a little, but it will drip once I park it. That is how much has come out. It looks like a light spray on top and it builds up under the bottom (I think mostly from the spray). |

David...the clue is that it leaks only when stopped or cooled down. Aluminum swells when it gets hot so that may close the crack somewhat and opens when cool. I originally thought it was a crack since you said it started leaking right after it was dropped. If you can see where its coming from...do this. 1. Drain the oil 2. Wipe the swingarm down with brake cleaner to remove all oil residue. Alcohol will also do. 3. Once its dry, apply JB weld and let her sit for a day. 4. I'd look for another swingarm on ebay or on this site. Should be easy to replace. Im sorry man and I know how ya feel. Im going through the "broke bike blues" myself. Im looking hard at the Aprilia SXV 550 goody |

No, It actually leaks when it runs (after about 30 miles) once I stop, only what has built up on the swing arm is there. If I wipe it and let it sit, or ride for a short period of time, it doesn't leak. Sorry for the confusion. |

HOLY F&^% ME SIDEWAYS BATMAN That is the equivalent power to weight ratio of a top fuel dragster or better yet.... an open class dirt bike...now were talking. My wife is soooooooooo gonna kick my A$$...LOL |

Engine oil leak and engine light on...haven't heard from HRHD in 4 days.....hmmmm. I wanna like this bike but I find myself looking for more power to weight ratio and less weight overall. Honestly...I want a race bike and one that can take the abuse that I give it. |

Goody, if ur looking for a race bike, then why not try the 1125R? ive ridin that thing, IMO one word covers it..."SICK!" i mean it has so much power and ease of ridin it just sickins me. but i think i will stick with my Bolt for now. i have no reason for all that spunk, if i track raced i would but the bolt i think is better for the street. also dont race bikes need alittle more maintance to them? side note- who is planning to go to the buelltoberfest II? i think i might just go to that. i got leave i need to burn up and this looks like a good time to do it |

Frinzo/Mike...I rode the 1125R and quite honestly, its awesome but again its not what I want. If you saw the bike Im talking about you would understand. If you have ever supmoto'd you definitely would know what I mean. It is over 100lbs less than my 9sx with as much horsepower...gotta think about that for a minute. If you've never "backed her in" to a corner...you dont know what yur missing. The SXV is a "wicked" barely legal race bike and insane power to weight ratio. talk to ya later....HRHD fixed my rocker box leak and still working on intermittent engine light issues. Its not leaving a code to trace it. Hmmmmm anyone wanna buy a 9SX with race mods? Goody |
