Sat down with the salesman and crunched some numbers this past weekend. Came up with a deal I can live with, including taking back my XB12Ss on trade. Now comes the hard part... WAITING for my 2009 RED 1125r to arrive. The second hardest part is BEHAVING myself for the first 1,000 miles. And then... LOOK OUT! Thanks to everyone here who took the chance on the 2008 model, and fought through all of the first year teething problems. And thanks to Buell for only offering the thing in BLACK that first year. If it actually came in a REAL color (instead of black, which is the ABSENCE of color) I might've been tempted beyond my "First Year Avoidance" pledge. |

You're welcome...I think. And you only have to "behave" yourself at 6k rpm or below for the first 310 miles, then 7,500 rpm or below for the next 310 miles. After the 1st service at 620 miles, you can let her rip. A word of caution, there have been MULTIPLE reports that these bikes have a greater propensity to get you 'noticed'/in trouble with your local LEO's. They don't like keeping the front tire on the ground, and 1st gear can & does regularly exceed the posted speed limit in sububurban areas. (Message edited by P_Squared on August 20, 2008) |

Congrats! I'm in the same boat you are. When does the new show up? I have 30 days left before mine ships... |

Good luck, I hope for you guys and Buell the '09's ARE completely corrected.....but the way I see it you are also taking a chance with an '09 and making an assumption the '09's are in fact completely "fixed". I guess we really won't know until we get enough real world ride reports on the '09's. (Message edited by xb9 on August 20, 2008) |

I don't expect mine to be "completely fixed." Just less bugs than in '08. Machines built by imperfect humans will always be imperfect. Guess we'll have to wait till our robot overlords take over before we see "perfect machines." |

I meant the major things they still don't seem to have a handle on, like the EFI & heat management. Unless you consider these things minor. Last (only) thing I heard on the EFI was "we don't know why some have problems and others don't"......blah blah blah. That in itself does not sound too promising in my book. as we are all patiently waiting for the next all-mighty re-flash that should have been at least close to right before they released the new model but wasn't.......and praying it is a good one... |

Well, the injectors and the O2 sensors have been repositioned on the '09 models, so I'm assuming that is an attempt to get that straightened out... |

The dealer I talked to a few weeks back wouldn't talk numbers with me. They said they'd call when the 09 1125r's come in. |

"as we are all patiently waiting for the next all-mighty re-flash that should have been at least close to right before they released the new model but wasn't.......and praying it is a good one..." Talked to Buell Customer service yesterday and was told the '09 fuel map for '08 owners is expected to be available late SEP early OCT. Mike (Message edited by kttemplar on August 20, 2008) |

Pre-Buyers Remorse Alert! First time you see a white one you will wish you bought it instead. Pretty technical on Buell's choice in "color" for the 08s. |

First time you see a white one you will wish you bought it instead. I think all the colors will look good..including black--which I feel is the best looking among the three options. But then again, that's opinion. Gschuette..what's up with that comment. As far as I am concerned, the only purpose that comment serves is to stir something up with people who have a 2008. What's the point? Again, someone who doesn't even own a 1125r giving owners the business. Love it. |

First time we see a white one we will just go buy a set of white plastics. Then dye them to a really cool color. |

To be honest, I don't see the hype with the white 1125R and XB12R - they look kind of cheesy to me. My CR is in black. |

White is all colors. Black is the absence of color. It's just physics. |

That's correct for light. For pigment it's the opposite. Just physics Z |

I learned all this crap during a painting class when I went to art school. Black is not a color. White is not a color. Any shade of pure gray is not a color. Makes it kind of easy to be an ass though: "Hey, you got one of them new 1125CRs? What color did you get?" "None." |

Fresno please calm down! I was just kidding! I find the white and blue to be incredibly sexy. Nothing beyond that was meant. Us 1125 non-riders are not out to get you. You may exhale now. |

Jdugger....actually...black is the slowest color. White would be the fastest color. You see, black is the color that absorbs light the most. And however minute the particles in light might be....they do have some mass....therefore....a black bike would absorb mass and thus be heavier......hence making it slower......... (yeah...my brain hurts a little now too) |

No, no, you got it all wrong! You see, in the evening when you are riding with the sunset behind you, all those light particles hitting the bike are absorbed, but since they are moving at 186,000 miles per second, they are pushing the bike ever so slightly forward. White... white is the kind of color a guy who wants to make his bike look ridden with a short trip to bike night buys! |

Both white and black show the dirt too quickly. But at least now they come with BLACK WHEELS! That part I like... hides the brake dust better. I can be a "little bit" lazier keeping the bike clean. The orange wheels on my current ride look great but are a BITCH to keep looking nice! |

All the colors are great as long as they're on an 1125r. (Message edited by usmoto on August 24, 2008) |

The more I look at the 09's, esp the white and blue, that black frame just doesn't do it for me. It seems like it's a flat or semi gloss color. If it were a gloss black it would look great imo. Simultaneously, the diamond blue has grown on me. |
