Has anyone been or anyone going? Some friends and I are considering going down and of course we've waited until the last minute and Harrah's casino is sold out that weekend. I'm looking to see if anyone has been down and knows the local hotel situation. If anyone is interested they're more than welcome to ride down with us, I'm the only sport bike in a bunch of cruisers. We'll be leaving central Kentucky sometime early Friday and coming back on Sunday, probably late. If anyone has suggestions please PM me or post up. Thanks

Stay in Franklin, NC or one of the outlying towns. We've always stayed in Franklin because of the low traffic, cheaper rates and availability of restaurants and stores. It's a quick and scenic ride from there over to Cherokee.

Hey Oldog I'm always up to sumptin'! : ) It looks like Reep went as far recommending the Franklin Motel with his Google Map. Here's the toll free number: 800-433-5507. See you folks next Memorial Day.

BTW, I clicked & dragged the map over to Mikey's house and I believe Ferris is in the back yard setting up ramps for his jump. ; )

Thanks for the replies guys. Had to do a little sleuthing with the google map but it looks like the Franklin Hotel might suit us good and looks like it's only a little over 20 miles as the crow flies to Cherokee. I'll put out the APB to the rest of the crew.

Or maybe a big pile of dirt from "The Chunnel"...

Where is the sattelite view of that farm? Maybe we can spot the rest of that Harley.

I went with my Dad when I was 12. The past decade flew by. What kind of parent takes an impressionable young boy to a Harley rally?

If he really wanted to make an impression he'd have taken you to Chillicothe. I have pics in my garage, locked up of course, that may make a sailor blush.

Kyrocket,

Chillicothe... : ) If Sturgis ever had a midwest rival for downright biker raunchiness then it has to be at the Ross County Fairgrounds every year. ; )

Reep,

I think Mikey has been back out there several times looking to no avail. The engine was prolly scrapped during WW2 to support the war effort.

Ferris,

Moonshine, music, motorcycles, mountains and sweet looking mamas. Does it get any better? : )

Kristi,

You were a major part of that great company!

JB2, Ross County gets fired up in just a little over a week. I have some friends going up but I've been sitting out for a few years now, It's about 120 miles from where I live. I've never been to Sturgis but if it's anything like Chillicothe, I can only imagine. People ask me about it all the time and it's hard to describe if you've never been there. Just check your morals at the door.
