Went fishing today and had a relaxing day. Just me my Son and my neighbor. 1 fish caught today. I caught the frigg'n ugly damn Gar. Man are them things ugly. It fought a pretty good fight. Hell I had 4 pound test on. It was about 3 feet in length. Not sure of weight. Maybe 10-12 lbs. Anyone ever catch one of these. Its my first.lol |

I caught one that was about 40" during a musky tourny on Pewaukee lake. Mine was like this, a Long Nose Gar, they're pretty indigenous to Wisconsin.

John, Caught the damn thing on a yellow tailed bucktail spinner. It could of been bigger then what I said.... I don't know. Mine looked bigger in girth then the one above. But yeah it was a long nose. It was caught in 14 feet of water on Tichigan Lake. (Message edited by bads1 on August 17, 2008) |

I got a crappy phone pic of it but never down loaded from my phone before. We forgot the net in the truck and I had to grab it with a towel around its snout/mouth. |

I didn't think long nose gar were good to eat. I thought or think of them just as a rough fish. |

Bads1, try texting the pic to your e-mail address, then just host it somewhere online. |
