Ok just to stop confusion (mostly with the new comers), I am making these new names for the seats official. Pics stolen from M2nc. The 2006 Style Seat. (Formerly known as the 06 Tall seat.)
This is the seat that comes on the 2006 Ulysses. This is the tallest seat, but many giants think is the most comfortable seat ever. I’m not vertically gifted so I don't have any personal experience with this seat, as my pegs would scrape before my foot would reach the ground when stopped. The 2007+ Style seat.
This is the seat that is standard on all 2007 and newer Ulysses models. It is much lower than the 2006 Style seat. This is my pick of the 3 seats, as I felt it was the most comfortable, and I am able to ride till the gas runs out without pain or stopping. Accessory Low Seat.
This is the seat that’s listed in the Buell Accessories catalog. This seat is a bit lower than the 2007+ Style seat. It is much firmer. I personally disliked the seat; felt it was very uncomfortable after even a trip as short as 45 minutes. - 51901-06Y (black on black) - 51908-06Y (orange on black) All 3 seats are compatible with all Ulysses years and models. |

To be honest, I'm a little confused. Isn't the 2006 seat, just the stock seat? Do we really have to add the word 'style' to the description? How 'bout the word 'type' instead - like 2006 stock 'type' seat. And isn't the 2007 type seat lower than the 2006 stock type seat, but higher than the low seat? So maybe the term super-low should describe the the low seat. Just an idea, really. I guess I'm still confused. . |

I've got the Accessory low seat and it's the most comfortable motorbike seat I've ever had! It's a full gel seat for the rider and I can spend all day in the saddle with minimal breaks and still not get a numb arse. But then that's me, I guess everyone's arse has different needs! |

Copy that. When I bought my bike (06 MY) the dealer had already fitted the 2007 seat to all his stock - it was a problem for nearly everyone apparently, so I didn't have to pay for it! Bonus! |

2006=High (33.1" seat height-MotorcycleUSA.com) 2007=Medium (31.8" seat height-MotorcycleUSA.com) Low=Low (1.5" lower than '06 according to Buell) If those other numbers are correct, the low is .2" lower than the current seat? Maybe it's supposed to be 1.5" lower than the '07? |

I intentionally left out Corbin. They don't deserve to be in business. Oddball, that sounds correct, as i stated in the first post, the Accessory low seat is a hair lower, so .2 inchs sounds right. |

Wow, Froggy - why does Corbin not deserve to be in business? Details! I've always seen them as an alternative, just in case I need a different seat, but have never bought anything from them. What's the scoop? |

I have the standard and also the 06 low seat. I am presently useing the standard and the the ridge on each side seems to cause a little stress after about 4 to 8 hours. I am going to put the low seat on again and see how it works for longer rides. |

It was a sad day when they let the short arses on our bikes. |

When I traded my '06 Uly in on the '08 XT, I kept the Low seat that I had reworked by Spencer's. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to see a local upholsterer to try and get the sexy orange rear section cover replaced with a sexier red cover. Then the seat should be close to perfect. Oh; my favorite of all three seats is the Low. |

Hooper, Corbin's CS is horrible. You can do a quick Google search; there are threads on other forums dating back to the beginning of the millennium talking about how there service is horrible. There is a thread currently going on in the XBoard about them, seems mixed with the people that posted in it. Also there was one recently in the 1125 section that was unanimously blasting them. I tried the Corbin on a lightning; I thought it was the worst seat ever designed. It was so stiff you would think Fred Flintstone designed it. I didn't get enough miles to do a full review of it, but I hated it. The guy that owns it is always stopping every 20 minutes when we ride, not sure if its cause of the seat or something else. Anyway if you must have a Corbin, get it from Al @ American Sport Bike. Al checks over the seats after he gets them to make sure they are good and up to spec, as Corbin has a lot of duds. Also, that means Al takes the abuse from the CS rep, not you |

I've got four Uly seats, two '07's in black and black/orange, my stock '06 black/orange, and a virtually new Low in black/orange that immediately offended me when I temporarily installed it. For me the '07's work since I like a firmer seat, I liked the stock '06 but it's too soft. The Low is too low and feels weird. Gives me a "sit up and beg" feeling with the stock bar. Very much a subject of IMMHO. |

I don't have access to a Uly and 3 seats to photograph anymore. Neither do we! We passed our 06 Stock seat to a Bueller in Florida sometime last year. There is one more shot in that series that shows all three seats lined up and is shot from the side view. We took those pics ages ago, as we were one of the first to get the orange 06 Low seat from Daves and then I wanted the 07 seat for the added comfort.

I have a stock 2006 Uly seat, black/orange. Being a "bench leg" at 5'8" with a 29 inch inseam, I'd like to trade it for a lower (read that, LOWEST) similar seat in the same colors. Any takers? I have a black lower seat, but after lining up next to all the other Barricade Orange bikes at the WV Buell Rally, I feel way out of place.....PM, email, etc.... BTW, I think ETENNULY gets the award for Most Zealous Orange Uly Owner.... |

Just switched from the "07+" to the "06" seat on my 09XT. I LOVE IT! I'm assuming that these seat height numbers are for the various seats on a bike with the X suspension. I really don't think mine is 33" on the XT. 2006=High (33.1" seat height-MotorcycleUSA.com) 2007=Medium (31.8" seat height-MotorcycleUSA.com) Low=Low (1.5" lower than '06 according to Buell) |
