I am wanting to add a cigar lighter type receptacle for my tank bag and want to plug it into the factory accessory plug at the lower triple. I want to use the factory plug mainly because it is supervised and because it`s already there. I don`t want to whack the factory plug off and convert it to something else because I will always have to modify future accessories. My question is this. Can a plug with a pigtail on it be purchased or can the little brass pins and crap be purchased to convert the "dust plug" into a real plug? |

Y0198.1AK SOCKET, CIGARETTE LIGHTER W/HARNESS the above part number is for the power plug in the tail section of the XB12X Uly, not sure if plug is male or female, it's only 15 bucks might be worth a trip to the dealer to find out. |

Dealer says not in stock and I don`t know. They did suggest that since there is a heated grip kit available that does plug in that I should identify the parts that make up the plug assembly and make one. So now my question is this. How do I get the part numbers since they don`t want to look it up? |

Hey Ken, I have two questions for you: Did that P/N translate to the steering head plug he was referring to, or, was that for the tail section as Two_buells referred to??? Also, I took a quick look up under the front, but, didn't notice an accessory plug there? What am I missing??? Thanx, Tracy |

mine was tucked up above the harness in the void area of the cast bracket I had to remove the fairing in order to see it and "free" it I ended up snipping the wires and spicing on a plug that I had in my toolbox for a project that I never got around to... good luck finding the mating plug...some of us have tried with no success |

From this: Y0198.1AK SOCKET, CIGARETTE LIGHTER W/HARNESS The plug on the 1125R is kind of in front/underneath the instrument cluster/fairing support. |

No one (yet) has been able to get the Sumitomo plug in end-user friendly #s. I bought the cigarette adapter just to get the plug. |

I think this may work for the accessory plug. The sumitomo plug is very similar, if not exactly the same as a Nippon Denso injector plug.
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387037.jpg) here is a picture of the accessory plug on the bike with the dummy plugs inserted
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387038.jpg) Here are the dummy plugs
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387039.jpg) Connector M from the drawing Ccryder provided in several earlier posts seems to be included with the connector from the factory.
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387040.gif) It looks like Buell has provided everything we need in order to plug things into the accessory plug all you have to do is put wire seals and terminals on the end of your wires and slide them into the side of the connector (M) that is blocked off with the dummy plugs. The retainer is built into the Sumitomo TS connector. wire seal
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387041.jpg) Terminal
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290431/387042.jpg) Here is a place to get the terminals and wire seals. It will probably cost more for shipping than for the parts. http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/index.php/cPath/109_110?osCsid=ptescgb2er1eciaq3l6c0pubo0 Mike |

I ordered 8 terminals and 8 wire seals, just to be on the safe side. I do not know how much of a learning curve there will be on building the connector M on this sumitomo plug. The total cost with regular mail delivery was $5.85. As soon as I get the stuff and have a chance to install it, I will tell you all if it worked or not. Mike |

Instead of cutting you may want to use Posi-tap wire taps. That is my next step if the terminals and wire seals I ordered do not work. Using the tap(s) you can keep the accessory plug on and still use the lead. Just a thought.
