I remember seeing that bike up for sale a while back... But it didn't look that good in the pictures. I think it was white at the time. I remember the dual 5 3/4" lights and powdercoated PM wheels. I absolutely love the new colors though. Beautiful bike; I am so jealous! That frame color reminds of an Alvarez electric guitar I once had of the same color. | ||

I'm not a fan of the twin headlight look on tubers, but when they are big like that, it does look more appealing and interesting. I gotta say I like the colors. Not my style, but it sure does look cool. | ||

The frame looks like the same color Bianchi paints their bicycles frames. That's one gorgeous bike. | ||

Are your Pm wheels grey / green or black That bike is georgeous! Congrats and weclome with the extensive work done for the refinishing I would bet that its well sorted too... IF and when you have issues this is the place to come next to your shop manual again welcome. | ||

Wow thanks for all of the positive response. I wish I could say that I did all the work myself but the truth is that I found this bike while poking around on craig's list on vacation about a month ago. The dood I bought it from did all the work along with Conspiracy Cycle Works in Dexter, MI. When I went to see the bike it was in the back of the guy's father-in-law's garage under an old sheet. He wheeled it out under the sun and looking past the layer of dust I knew it was my bike. Mind you I had no intentions of looking for or buying a Buell while on vacation that week. I have two toddlers and a new baby boy on the way, things are a little hectic. Not trying to be corny but it's like the bike found me. My wife even likes this bike! If you knew my wife you would find this very hard to believe! I got the cash together and rode it home with my uncle riding with me on his Honda. This was my first time on a Buell and when we got to my house my uncle said that I was riding it like it grew out of my ass! Like I said I knew it was the bike for me. So after getting it home and riding it around I noticed some smoke and oil coming out the exhaust. So I took to the net to find some advice/info and came across this site, and here I found a bunch of people who feel like I do about these wonderful examples of Americana! These tubers as you call them are really something special. To answer the question about the Pm wheels, they are hard coat anodized gray/brown. Thanks for the warm welcome. +1 on "the bike found me"! I wasn't even looking for a street bike when my 96 S1 found me. I was heavily into dirt and racing at the time and running my bicycle shop. My buddy owned a 900 duc. monster and was trying to convince me to get a street bike. I wasn't really interested in one and after working at a motorcycle shop for over six years and having access to numerous crotch rockets I new it would take something completely different to convince me. One day he walked in the shop with a Cycle Trader magazine and told to stop what I'm doing and find something...NOW! So I sat in my chair, grabbed the mag. and proceeded to check every page...nothing caught my eye so I tossed the mag. on the ground as a joke and told my buddy to keep trying. Well, he picked it up and opened it to the first page which was an advertisement for a dealership dealing in used harley's. It was a full page ad comprised of 1"x1" pictures of their stock. He said "take a look at this one". After much squinting at the small pic of a boool? with the gold front rotor we decided it warranted a closer look so we loaded up in the van on a rainy Sat. and headed to Arlington, Tx. 40 miles away. When we got there we asked the gentleman if we could see the Buell, after thinking for a second he said "oh yeah, I believe that one is in the back lot. So after walking the lot full of harley after harley we came across, The One. It sat alone away from the others, uncovered and in the rain. My buddy and I looked at each other and I said "I don't know what the hell it is but it's mine now"! We asked the sales guy to start it and then I knew it was mine. Never even rode it, just paid the man, loaded it in the van, and brought it home. I told my buddy that I wasn't going to spend any time "customizing it as he did his duc. but I was wrong. I haven't stopped tinkering since day one! That was seven yrs. ago and still enjoy it like the first day I bought it. Oh, the disc I thought was gold turned out to be rust from sitting out in the rain  . I credit it somewhat to my purchase because I figured that anything with a gold rotor has to be badass. Gold or rust, it is badass | ||

Nice pick-up for a first timer, to bad you live in Michigan where the ride time is so short. Just remember to drain the gas out when you put it up for winter. I wouldn't change a thing it's beauty. | ||

Negative on draining the gas, just add fuel stabilizer to the last fill up before winter storage so it mixes well then run it long enough that the treated fuel fills the carb. This keeps your seals and such from drying up. Unless you'll be storing for a looong time there's no need to drain the tank. Bonus, our tanks are nylon, so they won't rust... Course IF condensation is a big problem due to the humidity there; then drain away. But you probably know this, sounds like it's not your first time on a bike. | ||
