So based on the reports here, I planned on inspecting all the connectors in front of the front pulley, soon as I got a round tuit. Went on a four day trip with my wife, and all was well. My previous (and mysterious) BAS issues, even with a warranty BAS, were handled by flipping a bit and disabling it. On the way home, it was cold, so I had the grip heaters on and high beam too. I noticed that the Kuryakin voltmeter was no longer displaying two green LEDs, but only one with the second flickering on and off. Nothing to worry about, but I just noticed. Started doing it with the high beam off, or the heated grips off. Hmmm. Still within range, but just a slight difference. So the other day I got around to inspecting the connectors, and didn't find anything of note. Looked good. Cleaned them with contact cleaner, reassembled with dielectric grease, and buttoned things up. Also did the BAS connectors. The Kuryakin voltmeter is now displaying normally. Interesting food for thought. |

When I was getting progressively lower readings on my Radar detector v meter I checked the connectors and found the one that has the three wires, (red, black and white)two of the three wires were crimped showing metal. I put lots of liquid tape on them and then regular tape around them and now my volts are back up to the normal readings.Seems like the engineer that designed the electrics on the 06 (stator, v regulator, wireing looms over cyclenders, past triple tree, connectors such as #77, electrical location of BAS etc) should be taken out back to the wood shed by Erik and given a good spanking. |
