Last week I was asking about installing an X1 oil tank in my S3, hoping to gain some more oil capacity. Well, from looking at an X1 tank I would say that it would not fit. Different mounting points from what I could see. I never really did find out if the X1 tank actually holds more oil. The spec sheet claims a .5 quart additional capacity over the S3 and M2. I wonder where it goes. Anyway, I did manage to get about two quarts, 30 ounces (yes, almost three quarts) into my S3. I managed this while switching from dino oil to synthetic. This was a fun job. I managed to flush out all the old oil by draining everything out of the tank and then adding one quart of synth to the tank and running the bike. This kept fresh oil going into the engine while pumping the old stuff back into the tank. I did this with two quarts, which was what it took until I saw clean oil being pumped back into the tank. So, I patted myself on the back and put the bike away for the night. Sunday I went out to Firebird Raceway to watch some friends on the azbusas.com board do some laps and when I got home I had nice clean oil all over the rear rocker box and right side of the tail section. Damn. This bike has been oil tight up till now. Time to locate the leak. Likely a rear rocker box gasket. Later, Scott |

Scott, if you put in as much oil as possible, it's probably spiting it back out the aircleaner/breathers. It's part of HD's unique "self-leveling" system. Josh |

Blake Ii don't think that it was Rocket who posted that message. I know that in the Navy when you find a computer logged in and no one actually using it it is common practice to post silly messages to the entire address book, go through the history and post as said person to any BBS's etc. Anything to make said person look silly/dumb/like an ass etc. Hopefully for Rocket he isn't also logged into his Hotmail account. |

Seems to me, and this is certainly in light of Xgecko's and Jocklandjohn's posts, that it's one thing to be doofy with your password and it's quite another to tell everyone in the world about it! |

Battle2Win writer's guidelines. Fairly recently Reg posted some writer's guidelines for submission to the Battle2Win magazine. Does anyone have a link to that posting, or a link to where he's posted the writer's guidelines? I don't recall if it was on the site here or elsewhere, and a quick search didn't produce it. Thanks. |

Actually, I'm getting less from the air cleaner now than I was before the switch to synth. It's surely a rocker box gasket that let go. I can see it coming from the rear box. Looks like another trip to the dealer since it's covered under the extended warranty. S.C. |

too much oil in the system will also cause a rocker box gasket to let go...My dealer found this out when they topped of my Blast |
